Why would it be an M.S. or M. Eng if it is only one year and without a thesis? Of course it can't have the same value as a two year degree, right? Thanks a lot

What is so special about Cornell that they offer masters in 1 year? Is is a high workload degree? Are the total tuition fees almost the same as other 2 year master degrees? I am asking about a regular 2 year degree, but just the first year of it.

Was Do you pay the usual tuition for a two year master from another university, or less? 11 months is more than 1 academic year which is just around 8 months, right?

Thanks a lot anthony333 for replying. I didn't mean compressing the master into one year by doing twice the work. I meant just the first year or around 15 credits, because I don't have cash for two years.
