Got a call from my POI at Rice University on Friday, but I was unable to get back with her that day. She said she wanted to ask me about my "plans for study in the coming year." Not sure if this will be an interview or what. I suppose I will find out more when I speak with her. Has anyone else heard from Rice?
Haven't heard back from them yet! How did it go (if you talked to her by now of course? Do you mind telling me who your POI is?

So true! It certainly could be much, much worse. And it's okay, I still have SLU's interview next weekend, and I believe my visit to Old Dominion might also result in an offer, albeit in human factors rather than I/O. So at least there's that
It's truly Tech's loss, anyway. I plan on doing excellent things regardless of where I am!

Anyone heard from Colorado State?
I saw someone was offered a flew-in interview last week, and another person was rejected today. I haven't heard anything from them so I called the department. They told me there's no interview or open house so far.
Can anyone tell me if you have any news from Colorado State, Virginia Tech, or University of Connecticut?
I was poking around their FAQ page and it says this: "When will applicants receive notification about selection decisions?
The admission process takes between eight and ten weeks. If you are accepted into the program, then you should be notified within the first two weeks of February. However, if you are placed on a waiting list, it could take longer."
I'm in the same boat as you...waiting to hear back. If we haven't heard anything by this next week, I'm thinking maybe waitlist or rejection maybe?

I got an email about a phone interview for Akron this afternoon, as well! Interview is for tomorrow. Let's see what they got going on...

Just got done with my first one! For the most part, she was kind of selling her school to me, which I thought was really great. She made sure to tell me why she thought I was a good fit for her lab based on my SOP, and ended up answering most of my prepared questions about collaboration and expectations of graduate students in the program without me having to ask!
One thing she did ask that I wasn't necessarily prepared for was whether I had an idea/direction for a First Year Project, which is a part of their curriculum. I told her that I honestly didn't know at this point...
So be prepared for that just in case

Colorado State rejection email....ouch
