Haha mdog - I'm just ready for all the wait to be over! This wait has gone on far too long! They said "three weeks," so I am hoping that it is sometime tomorrow!

At this point, I simply would just like to know. I imagine most everyone feels the same way. Good luck everyone!

Hey there- I specifically remember the email that I received from my host country (Australia) stating that technical difficulties would not affect the outcome: Please be prepared for possible interruptions to the internet connection delivering Skype content between yourself and the Selection Committee as this can happen from time to time. This will in no way affect the outcome of the interview. I have, of course, replayed the interview quite a bit in my own head and wonder how heavily the interview itself weighs in the process. If anyone knows how heavily they weigh, I'd love to know! I don't think I did a terrible job, but think I certainly could have done better. Oh well - we'll just have to wait and see, right?

So...this may be nothing, but I applied to Australia and I have been checking the hits on my website. I had a hit from Canberra (the location of the fb office in Australia) yesterday, and I think maybe it was from them? I checked and no one has ever hit my website from there in its 4 year history. Coincidence? Am I going nuts? :-) best of luck to all you wonderful folks!!!

I'll share what I got from Australia on the 13th: Dear Australia Fulbright Candidate, All applicants will be notified by the end of January as to whether or not their applications have been recommended for final consideration in the host country. This message is NOT an indication that a candidate has been recommended, but rather it is an update on the review process. For Australia candidates, the Fulbright Commission has decided to implement skype/teleconference interviews for some recommended candidates. For those candidates selected for interviews, the commission is tentatively planning to schedule them for times on February 12th and/or February 13th. Recommended candidates who are selected for interviews will receive additional information sometime after IIE has sent out the status update emails notifying candidates whether or not their applications have been recommended for final review.

Basically, I proposed to write a 20 minute piece using chamber orchestra and dance that meditates on the enigmatic ideas found in the Dreamtime mythology of the Indigenous community. I made contact with a composer named David Page, an aboriginal composer who writes in a Western context for Bangarra Dance Theatre and is willing to help me realize my vision. I have my fingers crossed :-)

I've been lurking for a few days. I have enjoyed the posts, everyone! I am applying for a research grant to Australia. Any other Australia hopefuls out there?
