  1. Hello all. Here's a short summary of my current dilemma: I'm a mathematics undergraduate attempting to select which colleges I'd like to apply to. Currently, I have a 3.5 overall GPA, a 4.0 GPA in mathematics, I run the university's mathematics tutorial lab, I'm currently doing undergraduate research in mathematics which I will be presenting at the joint meetings of the MAA and AMS in January (the largest mathematics conference of the year), and I'm vice-president of the university's mathematics club. However, despite all of the things I've got going for me, I have one enormous problem: I haven't taken the GRE mathematics subject test. This is because it has questions on real analysis, which is the only class I've yet to take (I'm taking it next semester) that is covered by the test. I received relatively good scores on the general GRE, though I'm retaking it a week from today to obtain a higher score on the quantitative portion (the format of the whole thing messed me up a bit). Still, quite a few universities absolutely require the subject test for admission to their programs. So, my question is, are there any relatively high-tier schools whose mathematics programs don't require the subject test? I know the top of the top schools don't, but, I highly doubt I'd be accepted to them.
