  1. Agreed. I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going, and I've withdrawn a couple of applications, but I'm probably not declining any offers until I make visits.
  2. Anyone know what Carnegie Mellon is doing? I'm guessing they've already sent out most of their acceptances, just curious to know if they'll send out more and when they'll send waitlist/rejection notices.
  3. You should get a decision from Harvard in the mail soon; mine came on Saturday. Unless you got an email you're almost certainly either waitlisted or rejected. Congrats on those acceptances; CMU is the one school I haven't heard from that would give me a difficult decision to make.
  4. Wonder if UMich is sending another wave of rejections, I still haven't heard from them at all.
  5. Just got accepted to Iowa State via email. Strange to get that email on a Sunday night.
  6. Rejected from Duke; email to check application status on website.
  7. Didn't apply to Cornell, but I also have yet to hear from Michigan or Duke. I don't think Duke has accepted anyone yet, just rejections and some interviews.
  8. Congrats to CMU admits. I haven't heard anything either way from them. Probably the one school I haven't heard from that would make for a difficult decision.
  9. Sure. For what it's worth I also got rejected from Washington. Undergrad Institution: Good east coast state school (unsure of reputation in mathematics) Majors: Math (statistics track), Economics GPA: 3.9 Type of Student: Domestic GRE Scores: Q: 164 V: 167 W: 4.5 Math/stat classes: Real Analysis I & II, Probability and Statistics Theory, Econometrics, no graduate classes Research Experience: Some experience at my internship, no co-authorships or anything though Awards/Honors/Recognitions: Dean's list, some merit scholarships Pertinent Activities or Jobs: Have interned at a government statistical agency for over a year now Any Miscellaneous Points that Might Help: My guess is my recommendations, especially one from my supervisor at my internship, and my work experience helped a lot, but I can't know for sure.
  10. I'll celebrate for sure. Harvard was the one school I had completely written off as a rejection, so I'm still pretty shocked myself. Don't give up hope just yet!
  11. Yeah pure stats, by email. It was written by the department head but sent from a different address, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a personal email, just a generic one they send to all admits. Didn't provide specific details about financial support, just said I would receive an admission letter and statement of financial support within the week. Not sure if I should interpret that as full support or not.
  12. Got an acceptance from Harvard about an hour ago. In complete disbelief right now.
  13. Thanks; checked my spam folder but didn't find anything. Not sure what to think; maybe they'll send more tomorrow. The suspense is killing me, especially with Jan. 30 (the day CMU said they'd let everyone know by) fast approaching.
  14. Still haven't heard anything from Duke, so I don't think they've offered interviews yet.
  15. Haven't heard from Duke either. Maybe they haven't contacted domestic applicants yet about an in-person visit? No idea.
