  1. Thanks Sarab, I'll be alright. At least I saw that one coming. I'm so excited for April 15 just to have this whole process done with!
  2. Hi everyone - thought I'd share I called Hopkins today and as expected (given I wasn't interviewed) I've been rejected from their Anth PhD. I asked if they have already notified all accepted or wait-listed students and he said yes, so if you have not yet heard back from JHU yet you are most likely waiting on a rejection. Congrats to those who did get in though!
  3. Congrats to everyone with recent acceptances and the opportunity to decide between multiple offers! April 15th is the absolute deadline to hear back from schools by right, MA or PhD? I'm still waiting on 3 schools, plus 1 wait-list... Do schools usually notify wait-listed candidates by April 15 as well?
  4. Thanks Forsaken in LA and Bloommquish! Yeah an offer for a MA is the best I'm hoping for from Columbia at this point - I wasn't interviewed though by Hopkins or Columbia :/ (And just got my rejection from Stanford).
  5. Has anyone else not heard back yet from Stanford, Columbia or Johns Hopkins? Could that imply maybe wait-list potential? Sending everyone good luck! (This is truly a terrible process)
  6. Hi everyone! So I'm new to gradcafe but always been a believer in working together against anxiety and to figure out this complicated application process; best of luck to everyone! I have a couple questions regarding the waiting-period for grad school apps... First, for those schools that I wasn't able to speak with any professors (who I'd be interested to work with) prior to submitting my application, do you think it's still good to try to speak with them now, or would you recommend against it at this point? Also, would it be worth sending an update letter / letter of interest to my top schools? And anyone know what exact format to follow for such a letter? For a few of my apps with Dec 1st deadlines, I had to submit them listing forthcoming publications that are now published and I would like to send admissions the full publication information. And has anyone heard from CUNY, Brown or Northwestern yet? Thanks!!
