Me neither. I get into spire, but the status page seems to be down. Maybe decisions are coming??

I've started personifying the phenomenon, just to cope. Oh wow, look who's emailing me again. Nobody. He will NOT leave me alone, he's like - totally obsessed with me. It's embarrassing.
-
HA! That's how you know I'm from California. I never even considered that. I wear sandals every day of my life.

Has anyone else not heard ANYTHING from ANYWHERE? I mean...I'm assuming that Cornell and Berkeley are nos, since some people have posted acceptances for both, but other than that I'm getting 100% radio silence. I mean, perhaps it has something to do with the relatively late due dates for my schools (January 1st or later)? And I guess hearing nothing with nothing posted in the results is better than hearing nothing while other people have results....but really though? Really?

...I'm more impressed by your Moomin avatar

The Anthro department only does PhDs as well...So i have no idea what's going on there. Maybe the folklore MA?
-
What is up with that UC Berkeley Anthro/Archaeo MA acceptance? That's not a thing. THAT'S NOT A THING!!!!!
-
I second this, but I would add that if it's been a REALLY long time...for example, if there are acceptances from your school on the results board from a month ago and you still haven't heard...then I think you might as well. Just to move on with your life!
-
Obsessing over the results board, and checking previous years' calendars, (like you do) I'm guessing that they're going to send out announcements on Wednesday. Or at least acceptances. So....that's both great and terrible...

My refresh button has taken out a restraining order against me.

...that moment when your relief that none of your schools are showing up in the results section yet turns to despair that none of your schools are showing up in the results section yet.

If I may interject an anecdote from my academia.edu... I have a paper up there about the Maya ballgame that features the phrase "masked man" in the title (Oh no! My anonymity!) and one day I got a notification that someone had found it. Do they still give you the keywords that people use to find your paper? Well if they don't, they used to, and this notification told me that "Someone from the USA found your paper with they keywords 'masked man pounds balls'!" ....but what always gets me the most about that story is that not only did someone pull up my paper in a search for "masked man pounds balls", they actually CLICKED on it!! Like, well I was gonnna go look at some porn...but the Maya though...

It's super fun and practical IF you're getting in. If. .....if.

A thousand times this. I'm even worse though. I'm on craigslist, and zillow, and trulia, looking at houses and rentals and floorplans and street views and thinking Oh! This place will be perfect! Look, the cats with love the view! Ooo and look, here's the cafe we can go to on the weekends! And OO! LOOK! Surely none of this can lead to disappointment and/or heartbreak!

Is this worthy of an email to a POI?

No, I didn't! I've changed up my entire strategy this year. Christ I hope I'm in but since this is my third time I've long since stopped jumping to that conclusion! -

"That sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you and I'm very pleased that you told me." Best. Advice. Ever. -
Is this worthy of an email to a POI?

Ok, confirmation from two distinct people = email sent I figured I would, but I had also figured I would do what I originally intended to do about the MA supervisor, and the second I proposed it on gradcafe I had every single user telling me "for the love of god don't do that!". Measure twice, email once. -

Yes, yes, I like it. I'm leaning that way too but I also tend to lean towards the communicative! -
Hello gradcafe! You guys were so helpful on my previous question (how to explain a bad situation with my MA supervisor without sounding like a jerk) that I figured I'd open this one up to you as well. There is a particular POI who has been adamant about wanting to make sure I had a viable collection ready to go if I'm admitted. I have access to a specific collection in a specific country (I don't know why I'm being so vague but it seems appropriate somehow) BUT, I've just gotten permission to access another HUGE collection housed in an anthropological institute in the capital city as well/instead. Should I email this POI and let them know about this, since it shows that I'm good at finding opportunities, forging collaborations, etc. or should I not, because it would be too much information and may come off as being pushy?

Oh god I KNOW!! I updated my profile but i had to change out my CV.
