Got an email (answer from Thom Wall on my email) from Harvard with rejection
-
I also did not receive any official notification from UCLA so far. So I'm also curious about waitlist notifications. I also congratulate all Harvard admits. Message on the submission board about 30 admits at Harvard this year makes me think that either Harvard is not done yet or Harvard admits are highly underrepresented on the gradcafe. So I still do hope (just emailed the department).

There were some changes to the UCLA's application status website and now it says to me the following: "To date, no decision has been made on your application. Please note that most decisions on graduate admissions for fall term are made in the months of March and April and therefore you should not anticipate a decision much before that time period." What is the meaning of this?..
-
Sure I do) Mine too. Although probably I'm not very good at making them.
-
The proper reverse to this logic is being not only as bad as we aren't at our best)
-
Is there anyone here who still got no news from UCLA? The form on application status tracker says "Submitted - Pending Decision". Could that mean that I'm on the waitlist or they are just slow with updating rejections?
-
I second this question. Never received a call from them, but still hoping...
-
I heard from Columbia too... I'm so thrilled...
-
I was contacted by NYU a few days ago and they asked whether I'm considering their program seriously so they can provide more information to those who are waitlisted. So probably they're waiting for responses from those who are accepted and then will contact waitlisted. Those are just my thoughts, I don't have any exact information on this.

Get confirmed that we can expect Columbia to release their decisions this or the next week.
-
I mentioned it, and I heard from current grad student (not me) that they will make decisions this week. Will confirm that I didn't misunderstand today.
-
Princeton rejection got into my email too. Who will break my hopes next, Columbia?
-
I'm refreshing my email inbox insanely right now. But in half an hour will have a Skype conference call and probably get less stressed. EDIT. Two more accepts... Congratulations to those who got them.
-
Congratulations to everyone admitted to Princeton. Unfortunately I've got no email, so likely I'm not among you.
-
I have insider information (from one of the grad students there), that Columbia will finalize their decisions this week. So I would also bet on this as this will happen with probability 1
-
If it could help relief your stress a little bit, I got accepted by both of those school, so there will be at least one opening in one of those schools.
-
I also just got an official reject letter from Berkeley, a little bit sad...
-
Congratulations to Cornell Admits! Likely I will not be among you... Every day I come home around midnight, make a cup of tea or coffee, start refreshing gradcafe and spend half of the night doing this... I guess I'm getting used to this routine.

I agree that PPP is an issue! But at the same time US Government has a need- (or merit- in less poor countries) based program called "Opportunity Funding" in many developing (probably developed too) countries to support promising students in US Universities admission process (both to undergrad and grad levels). This funding is pretty generous and covers all expenses on application: TOEFL, GRE, sending transcripts, sending scores, application fees. It also covers all possible sort of expenses after you get admitted to a program, but before you start your study there: visa, visiting weeks, tickets, etc. And application for this funding is very similar to standard program application (CV, SOP, Transcripts, etc.), so it does not require anything special. As I understand US citizens do not have such funding opportunity.

As I can see, Russians are quite active on this forum
-
Isn't it strange that all reported UCLA admits at least hold US degree? And only one international student reported on Berkeley... I understand that there is a huge bias on this forum towards Americans, but I'm still curious.

I claim NYU, just got an email (unofficial) from stuff member! Full funding package.
