  1. Congrats!!!!!!!! I was just accepted as well. I'm leaning towards USTA in Austria, but it is still very exciting. Quite a relief to have this waiting period over with!
  2. the official Fulbright Austria decisions came out a few weeks ago. The USTA decisions came out today. USTA is like an Austria Fulbright ETA, but it is not an official Fulbright because it is administered by the Austrian government. So now both Austrian decisions and DAAD have been released, but none of the German decisions have. I am also feeling the Germany vibes! I feel like it will be today or Friday. Total speculation though haha!
  3. I got offered USTA! I'm moving back to Europe! Just got the email from Jürgen an hour ago and read it when I woke up! I'm crying and happy and alone because I am on the West Coast and it's 6 am. Hope there is more good news for everyone to come today!!!
  4. Thank you for posting that email. What were the possible reasons for the delay?
  5. Discordant, did you apply to the full research/study grant or ETA for Germany? I was talking about ETA, which seems to be announced the first Tuesday of April. That's why I think it will be next week. I could've misread the spreadsheet or looked at the wrong row though.
  6. I meant when they are released in general. I didn't mean to suggest that I expected a decision today. From the document it seems like decisions will come next week, but that is just an educated guess. I was wondering if anyone had a more specific time frame so that I can stop spastically checking my email so much.
  7. Has anyone contacted IIE to see when Germany ETA decisions will be released? Also, not directly related, but for candidates who also applied to the USTA program, have you thought about what you would do if you are awarded both? I've been thinking about that dream scenario for awhile, but I don't know which one I would choose! I think I lean slightly towards USTA since there is the opportunity to extend the program to two years, but I don't know if it is foolish to give up the official Fulbright grant since I want to go into academia and Germany is such a bigger force in politics/economics/education.
  8. thanks! do you know how long it was until you got the email from PAD? and how do you like being an ETA?
  9. quick question for fellow Germany ETA applicants: does anyone know what the next step of the application will be? from reading this forum and earlier years, I think part 2 of the application will just be ranking our Bundesländer preferences, without translating our essays or writing anything new in German. but it seems that this was only changed last year. can anyone confirm this? i'm the first person from my school to apply to Germany ETA in a few years and my FPA has no idea. thanks for your help!
