  1. Thanks a lot! I'll forward your links to my partner. She pretty much passes most of the state requirements, it's just that "Possesses a master's degree or doctoral degree or equivalent from an educational institution accredited by an accrediting organization approved by the Board" that we need to figure out. Appreciate your reponse and thank you. Working overseas is something we've wanted to do a while but the US is so strict! Especially with these differences in the programs of speech pathology between our two countries!
  2. Hi guys, A little background first, partner is a "speechie". She completed a bachelor degree (4 years full time) here in Melbourne, Australia with a respected university 2.5 years ago and since has been working full-time for Southern Health (a group of hospitals in the area) on a 9 month rotational basis. She has experience in paediatrics, stroke, acute etc. Our question is; is it a possibility to gain USA state accreditation with these qualifications/this resume? VIA a agreement between out countries, Australian degrees are recognized by ASHA, so that's not a problem.. but what is a problem is getting ASHA accreditation but not be able to get any state accreditations. We have been told by a few sources that it is possible that even though state bodies require a masters for accreditation, that it may be possible to gain accreditation if there is proof provided that during our bachelor (4 years) she gained the same experience/knowledge acquired during your masters equivalent. Problem is, we can't seem to find anyone to give us any concrete answers as to how we can go about this process. Even the state bodies we have got a hold of have been very vague and/or passed us around on a merry-go-round of people who don't really know how to answer. I have no idea if this is the place, but if anyone has been through this or knows anyone who deals with these kinds of cases we would absolutely be VERY thankful to hear from you.
