  1. I'm the TTU PhD acceptance! Lubbock is a really good fit for me, I think, so I'm really pleased. I messed up my undergrad GPA on the results board and tried to correct it and now I realize that I reversed my v and q gre scores, but at this point, I'm not going to add another note.
  2. I was an OSU admit from the waitlist a couple of years ago (although I was on the MFA side, but I don't think the process is all that different), and I didn't know I was on the wait list for some time, maybe a couple of weeks. I do seem to remember that rejections did not come out at the same time as the acceptances, as seems to be the case this year, so everybody except the straight admits was in limbo. Wasn't there a waitlist notification on the results board? Or am I making that up? It seems to me that if you haven't heard anything at all, there's a decent chance you're unaware that you're waitlisted. This is all speculation, of course, and I'm no longer in Columbus so I'm not at all in the know for the present round of admissions.
  3. I don't know how relevant this is to those not applying to Ohio State, but I found the description of the admissions process on their site to be pretty helpful as I worked on statements: https://english.osu.edu/graduate-studies/admissions-info/prospective-phd About halfway down the page, the DGS explains the sorting and reading process. I would imagine (maybe?) that several schools take this approach. This seems to be an altogether different approach than Texas, for example, whose site makes it clear that application reading is department wide and across disciplines.
