  1. You said Austin was "one of the cheapest cities in the U.S." Just letting the person know that statement is false.
  2. Austin is DEFINITELY not a "cheap" city to live in and it's getting more crowded and expensive everyday. I've lived in Austin since 2004. My advice, go where you save money and ultimately where you want to get a job. If you want a job in tx, go to lbj.
  3. Yeah I will be for the MPSA program. It's a great school. When I went to College Station (lived in Austin 8 years), I was surprised how little there was to do. College Station is a small college town. Coming from any big city to College Station is definitely a challenge for anyone. But it's probably better for us since as graduate students, we should be spending most of our time studying anyways. And my favorite Doctor is the 11th. He was my first =P.
  4. Haha congrats! Maybe I finally found someone I can watch Dr Who and Sherlock with! A Brit who lived in Tokyo coming to College Station, get ready for a culture shock.
  5. I got 5k but only because I'm an AmeriCorps Vista. I think they break it out by 1k, 4k,10k,15k scholarships normally.
  6. Just got my email...Accepted!!! So relieved =). Keep a look out for those emails folks.
  7. Sure, why not. School seemed very focused on recruiting individuals committed to public service. Appears that the student body is a very tight knit group and classes are a team/group structure. Professors seem very friendly and approachable, or at least most of them. Very good job placement and financial funding.
  8. MPPgal, You're a swell person for helping out future grad students even though you already got int LBJ. Thanks for your contribution.
  9. Since you're doing the phone interview, you should give the rest of us a heads up on what questions to expect from them.
  10. I'll be attending the MPSA conference. Currently trying to figure out what questions to prep for. I heard they're currently still accepting MPSA applications.
  11. I received mine on the 30th of January through email. I think it varies from late January to early February. If you didn't get one, check your spam folder. That's where mine was by mistake.I didn't realize it until 6 days later.
