Hey, just wanted to tell folks that I know Fordham in New York is still looking to fill one more slot. It is a newer program, and there is not much financial aid (which is true for pretty much all the New York schools accept Juilliard). However, you get two full productions and a conservatory relationship with Primary Stages. Also, you're in New York, which I know is really important for some people. If you're interested let me know, and I can put you in touch with some folks.

Northwestern sent out rejection letters two weeks ago I think. My friend was rejected. So, if you haven't gotten one that's probably a good sign

I know that The New School had their interview process, which is a bit unconventional. They take all their finalists (playwrights, directors, actors) and have them put on a 24 hour play. That happened last Saturday. I don't think you'll hear from University of Iowa until the end of this month, if not later. They are notoriously late in getting back to people. Also, I didn't mention this to anyone, but I got into the Michener program at Austin. I haven't seen UT come up on this forum much, but if anyone also got in or knows someone who did, I'd love to talk to them.

I did. I had a very short phone interview about two weeks ago, and I got the sense that that was the only step in the process, but that could be totally wrong. Haven't heard anything since, but I haven't gotten a rejection letter either, and I applied to both Michener and Theater and Dance. It shows you how subjective the whole thing really is.

Could you tell me more about UCSD? I guess that's off the table then. I haven't heard anything from them.

Thank you. I was contacted last Monday, and I interviewed for about 30 minutes on Thursday. It was very conversational. I was asked why I wanted to go to grad school and about some things I wrote in my statement, and then I asked a bunch of questions about the program. It didn't really feel like an interview.

I had a Skype interview with CMU.

Btw, I did not apply to Brown, so I have no clue what their admissions process is.

What did the Brown letter actually say? I'm curious.

Has anyone heard from UCSD by any chance? Haven't seen it come up too much.

Hey all, I'm a finalist at Austin for both Michener and the MFA. I had a short phone interview where I asked all the questions, and there's no further interview. Does anyone know if this is typical? Are there two sets of finalists, one group they fly down and a group of alternates they speak to by phone? Obviously, I'm really honored just to be on the short list, but I wondered if anyone had a sense of what was normal.
