  1. I just called Cornell ECE; their visit days are March 21st & 22nd
  2. Hi all, just fyi I called the MIT EECS office just now, and the secretary told me that if I haven't received an acceptance by now I could probably assume that I didn't get in.
  3. No interview, though I called up a couple professors a couple months ago and chatted with them / sent them my CV. In the admissions letter they paired me with an advisor that they picked (Dr. Olav Solgaard), who was one of those professors. I'm doing photonics.
  4. Hey there. I just got accepted via email (for PhD). Visit days are 13-14th. Not sure what's up with MS stuff though. Good luck!
  5. Stanford visit days are March 13-14 (right before Berkeley)
  6. Hi. I thought it might be useful if we all pool our knowledge on when visit days are for various universities so that we at least pretend to plan out our very hectic next couple of months. I know that Berkeley is March 15-17, Santa Barbara is Feb 27-March 1, and Columbia is March 7-8. Apparently MIT is Feb 27-March 1. Any others?
  7. Hey there. I was recently accepted. Electrical Engineering (Photonics). Here's how it went: 1. Email January 14th from a faculty on the admissions board asking for a Skype interview 2. Accepted via email on February 5th 3. Email on February 6th with details / nomination for university fellowship Here's info on visit days: We invite you to meet with our faculty and students, as well as to explore our unique city on the San Francisco Bay during our visit days for prospective graduate students (Sunday, March 16, 9:30 am – Monday, March 17, 9 pm). Since we will be starting on Sunday morning, we invite you to arrive the evening of Saturday, March 15. More information about the visit days will be emailed soon. I hope that helps!
