thanks! Working is definitely the plan after graduation. I'll probably take the GRE again as well.

I did get interviews to 3 of the schools. One of them went terribly though but the others were very good. I emailed a professor at my top choice and he said that all my letter writers wrote strong recommendations and that I had a very good application. He even said that I was a top candidate but ultimately it didn't work out. And yes, I had professors look over my statement. One of my letter writers was quite surprised to hear I was rejected across the board.

Also, I'd like to apply again for fall 2015, but I'm not sure I will be more successful. If I were to reapply, it would most likely be to many of the same schools since those are the programs I'm interested in.

Bad luck, I suppose. I'd rather not name the schools publicly, but they were all in the top 40 I believe. I did apply to a couple of the big 4 which were long shots anyway.

Curious, who did you apply under? I'm interested in hci as well, but it didn't seem like they had many professors in that area.

I applied to 11. My GRE was 161V, 163Q. I actually have some research from one of the big 4, but it was just for a summer so I guess it didn't really help in the end.

How much research experience are CS programs looking for? I think this and my GRE score were the weakest links in my application this year (rejected by 11 schools).

Sadly I haven't heard any acceptances either. I'm 0 for 10 with 2 more to go, but I'm not counting on those. I get to do this whole process again next year.

@Rwin Thanks for your reply. I wanted to see if we applied for the same program (we didn't). Sorry about your results. @Eileen I'm in the same boat. I think the program I applied for at NW just hasn't released all decisions yet.

Certainly disappointing to hear. I applied to a program that's jointly offered through the Comm department. I've seen some rejections for the program over a week ago. Didn't get one myself, but now I'll be expecting one since I wasn't invited and it seems like they'll be picking solely from those invited.

Does anyone who went to the Northwestern visit weekend have any insight as to when decisions will be released?

Isn't the visit weekend this weekend? My guess is that they won't update until after their visit weekend.

Still nothing from Northwestern, but from the results search it looks like results could be out this week or the next.

I feel your pain. Do you happen to know if all Northwestern MTS decisions have been made?

Are these the visit weekend dates for only Comm programs or all NW grad programs?

I just got an interview with UCI if that helps anyone timeline-wise.
