  1. How do you approach science passages...they are the hardest for me. I did very poorly on the GRE because everything was a science passage.
  2. Columbia had told me not to worry about math, English depts never look at the math.
  3. OK I am ever so upset right now because I bombed my GRE. I have applied to mostly top schools except for Syracuse which is a teaching focused school, so I thought I had a better chance there. I have an MA and wrote phenomenal papers and SOP's. There is a lot more I have done, so I waited until the last minute to take this test. It is too embarrasing to say I got a 145 in v and I did not have to take the math portion because my major for a graduate Ph.D is Comparative lit. I called my daughter (Yes, I too am an older student) and she said mom cancel and re-apply next year. This was my first take on the GRE but all I got were these science passages even the sentence completion etc were science related. I do very well on those and was counting that as my strength, but even those I knew I blew. I already sent in my scores. Should I see if they can be cancelled or should I just wait it out and see what happens? I have been out of school for too long...so I am really upset. However, I am a college instructor for the last several years. Please some advice!!!!!! I feel like a total idiot!
  4. Well I was rejected from Brown...but I wish you luck!
  5. Does anyone know that if you are asked for a fellowship that htey are considering you? Some of my papers GRE was late, but my application seemed good. Any advice? I am really panicking! This is for Comparative Lit
