  1. It's at Purdue University. I'm not quite sure if it would be along with it. I have a visit this weekend, so I will just politely ask my POI.
  2. I recently was accepted into a Behavioral Neuroscience program, which offers full tuition remission and a stipend of around $24,000. I have also been nominated for a fellowship worth $16,000 spread out over 2 to 4 years. So, if I were to get this fellowship, would it be in addition to the stipend and what am I able to use these funds for? Just research? Personal living costs?
  3. All of these responses are great advice! Thank you all so much. I am planning on entering a grad program in the fall and have been really worried about making ends meet on such low income. These are really good things to consider.
  4. Current graduate students and also undergrads planning to enter a graduate program: What are some strategies or things you do to afford housing, food, insurance, bills, and entertainment on a monthly stipend? Any advice on how to spend less money, increase savings, stay on top of bills, maintain a social life etc.? Especially when you may already have student debt from an undergraduate degree!
