Just called both the office of graduate admissions and the department. Nobody gave me a straight answer. I'm thinking this means I'm on a wait list of some kind

So I have applied to USC's Integrative and Evolutionary Biology program and I haven't received a letter of acceptance yet but was enameled April 14th from the Financial Aid office about deadlines for graduate financial aid and housing applications. I'm a little confused as to what this means to me. Has anyone out there had a similar experience and if so what was the end result?
