Congrats everyone! Has anyone heard from Juilliard? April 15th was the projected date that finalist would be contacted.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I got my rejection from Brooklyn this morning via email. I'm going to accept my offer for CMU, and I'm super excited about it.

Thanks so much for this info! Other than Juilliard, I'm still waiting on Brooklyn rejection, and I haven't heard anything from NYU. Anyone have any updates on those?

So I need some advice. I was asked to let CMU know my decision within about two weeks, but I still have to hear back from a bunch of schools. Do you think it is okay for me to contact those schools and ask them about the status of my application? Do you think they would expedite my application decision? Is it bad/weird to request it? I just don't know what the protocol for this is. I'm especially worried about Juilliard, because they don't make their decisions until so late... Any thoughts? Also Starsandsound and roguesenna-your plays sound super. Also what is the NYC Midnight Screenwriting challenge?

GlenwoodRed: Thanks for asking them! thelifeaquatic: Yes I'm in NY, so my interview is going to be in person, but from what I understand, people who are too far to travel can do phone/skype interviews.

Thanks for the support!!! It means a lot. It didn't say on the letter when I have to sign on the dotted line by, so I'm going to check in on that soon. I absolutely love the program. Rationally, I know I should wait and see if I get into any other programs that make more sense financially, but my heart is with CMU. Sooo basically unless I randomly get into Juilliard, I'm pretty much sold!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to keep you posted: Yesterday I received an acceptance letter from CMU! I'm very excited!!!!!!!! Still no news from NYU, Juilliard, or Brooklyn (though I assume that's a rejection since they had accepted people already). Has anyone else heard from Brooklyn yet?

Agreed! It is nice to commiserate. From my knowledge of Juilliard, they actually read scripts in batches, call people in for interview, read more scripts, call more people in, and so on. So don't fear if you don't get an interview right away, because there is a chance they haven't read your script yet. At least, that's how I believe they did it was last year. I'm not sure if they changed the policy for this year. I had my skype interview with CMU. I really, really, really want to go there. Now I have my hopes up really high. Advice for people with Columbia interviews: I spoke to my friend who is a student there now, and he said that when he went in they didn't ask him any questions, rather they just had him ask questions. He also said that though his interview seemed a normal length that some of his classmates' interviews were quite short and that isn't an indicator of anything because they still got in.

Has anyone heard anything from NYU or Brooklyn?

Thanks for the updates everyone! I haven't heard anything from Yale. I've applied to Juilliard before, and if I remember correctly, they don't do interviews until around May. Also thanks mcw98 for the info about Hunter.

Haha thanks GlenwoodRed. I got an email about a Columbia interview as well. Still no news from Yale though. I'm crossing my fingers that the Yale news hasn't come out yet. Positive thinking!

Hello! I've been lurking for a while now, and since reading all of your posts has really helped me get through this whole grad school application process, I felt like it would only be right to say hello and thanks for sharing info about your experiences. It's so nice to have a forum to exchange information on the process and who has heard what, etc. I've applied to a bunch of programs: Yale, Juilliard, Brown, CMU, Columbia, NYU and Brooklyn College. I may apply to Hunter, but the application isn't due until April, so I guess I will wait and see if I hear any good news from the others. I was rejected at Brown, and I have a skype interview coming up with CMU, but haven't heard anything else yet. Does anyone know anything about Hunter? Thanks for your help!
