  1. No, but I've been interviewed for the same job twice and was rejected twice because I "look too young", despite having the experience. I know it sucks, but you'll get accepted somewhere. Just be patient and keep applying to different schools. I was fortunate in that my masters program didn't do interviews the year I was accepted. I'm terrible at interviews.
  2. I feel your pain. The highest level of education either of my parents have obtained is high school (one dropped out in grade 11), and when it comes to furthering my education, they have never been supportive. I'm currently in my first year of a masters degree and intend to go for a PhD when I'm done. Don't let anyone hold you back when it comes to your dreams and what you want to do.
  3. Hi, Yes I did receive the offer on uapply...you should contact the department!
  4. I'm in a similar situation as you, in that I hope to complete the coursework necessary to become certified as a counsellor within the province. I'll most likely speak to one of the coordinators, but you can find an entire website dedicated to registration requirements for Quebec online, including what classes are needed, etc.
  5. Congrats! ME TOO. I just received an email from the coordinator stating that they are unable to accept me into the project stream as they have no professors able to supervise my research, However, due to the strength of my application they are willing to recommend me for the non-project general stream. I know it's unofficial but I'm so excited!
  6. I applied to the MEd general project concentration. Expecting another rejection letter (just received my refusal for the MA counselling internship stream). Disappointed.
  7. This wait is extremely painful, especially since I just found out that I've either been rejected or waitlisted into the MA Counselling.
  8. It seems everyone is hearing back from McGill (Counselling and Ed Psych), but I'm still under review. Should I call or keep waiting?
  9. SFU - worst. Did not receive any response regarding my online application for months after the deadline notification date. Had to call to receive my rejection over the phone. This was a few years ago.
  10. I'm in a similar position. I'm waiting on decisions from a university I applied to over six months ago. The deadline was supposed to be yesterday and yet, there is nothing in my inbox or online via the portal. However, I have seen people on the results page being rejected to the same program(s). I don't know whether to email to inquire, keep waiting, or just mentally give up and assume the worst.
  11. I'm right there with you. I applied back in October.
  12. Nope still waiting
  13. Has anyone else heard from McGill's counselling department today, besides the girl I was talking to earlier? Both of my applications for the MEd and MA Counselling are "In Review", but the website says all applicants will be notified by April 1st.
  14. When did you get your results?
  15. Not for me, my application still says "in review" - guess that's bad news?
  16. Still waiting to hear back from McGill's counselling department. The website says "by April 1st"....
  17. any news from the ed psych and counselling psych department at mcgill?
  18. Well I'm officially dying of agony...6 months of waiting.
  19. Will I do graduate studies at my university of choice this fall: it is decidedly so. Don't let me down, magic 8 ball.
  20. @kaleisi That is really depressing, especially as I was hoping my experience would help. Do you mind telling me what your GPA was when he replied that way? Privately if you want.
  21. Thanks for the update. I was also wondering why I hadn't heard anything.
  22. I've applied to two master programs at McGill in the Educational and Counselling Psychology department. Last year applicants had heard back between Feb 21-28th. I'm getting so nervous!
