  1. Sorry for the late reply, but yes, I've accepted their offer. Originally chose UWO, but opted for McGill due to a number of deciding factors.
  2. Hey Davet, Congratulations on getting accepted to the only school you applied to! I've also accepted an offer at McGill for September. I'm a Quebec resident, so if you happen to have any substantial questions regarding the province or what not, send me a message.
  3. I'll be turning down my Western acceptance. I hope this helps someone out!
  4. Give Western a call! Their offer deadline was Friday, March 14th for those accepted in the first round. (Good luck with getting through to them though, I have a few unanswered calls and emails). Stay positive and don't fret. You got two acceptances!
  5. Hey thanks for that. Im a Canadian Citizen, living in Montreal for all my life. So provincial tuition is a good thing (esp. in Quebec). I was graciously offered admission into their MA program (PoliTheory). I couldn't believe my luck! I have good offers at other place (stricly in terms of $$), but I'm definitely leaning heavily towards McGill for many decisive reasons (tuition, contacts, living, interests, ect). I hope to hear back from them soon on funding. Would you happen to know when they meet to decide this? Thanks again.
  6. @Carefree: Do you know the typical funding package for new MA's? Are TAships guaranteed for all incoming MA's as well? I got a nice offer elsewhere and I'm wondering if McGill can/ would be likely to match or come close to it. In other words, are they open to negotiation?
  7. Please disregard my prior post. The graduate assistant told me that acceptances would come after Friday..and looky-looky..I just got an acceptance as well! This is bittersweet seeing that I've accepted my offer at Western yesterday. (Will need to reconsider ) I wish deadlines didnt have to be so damn soon for some places. I'm in a pickle. Good luck to all!
  8. For those who applied to McGill: I called yesterday to check my status and the secretary told me that they will be rolling out their rejections this week. Acceptances to follow in the coming weeks. ~400 applicants; accepting +40; 2 rounds. @PoliPixie: I suggest you call Western to find out more. I got offered in late February and my deadline to accept is this Friday (March 14th). [i've already done so, actually.] Good luck to all!
  9. Anyone here still waiting to hear back from Queen's University? I see some acceptances have gone out, but a lull since then. Do you know how their process works? I have a few deadlines coming up from other places but I would REALLY like to hear back from Queen's. thanks!
  10. Would you recommend that people solicit the department if need be to get an advance on news concerning admissions? (I have a few pending offers whose deadlines are fast approaching.) subfield: political theory & international relations
  11. Nevermind. I solicited the department and they let me know the details. 15k +TAship. Good news to hear! Best of luck to all applicants this season!
  12. Don't mean to be a pest by asking again, but has anyone heard from Western Ontario, MA Poli.Sci? I got an informal offer of admission, but have yet to hear back from the department directly. Any insight, news, thoughts would help ease my anxiety!
  13. Hey, I'm wondering if anyone else has heard from Western Ontario? I got an offer via email (on the 19th), but there hasn't been anything further. I'm planning to call soon to inquire, but wanted to see if my situation is similar to others first. Edit: I should add that the website says a Western funding package is given within the offer of admission letter, but no such thing was given in mine.
