Hi all, I am reaching out to this forum for some help and I would appreciate any comments on my situation. Finally, after a tiring application process, I managed to get into a bunch of schools. I applied to both Computer Science and Information Systems PhD programs. My research interests broadly lie in data mining, statistical modelling of data and applied machine learning. I have heard back from most of the schools I applied to and I currently have offers from the following. PhD in Information Systems and Management from top 3 school - One Professor helped me during the entire process and he was definitely the reason I got in. PhD in Computer Science from top 15 school. Multiple Professors have stated interest in me. I have scheduled calls with them and will be talking to them over the next week. PhD in Computer Science from top 30 school. Multiple Professors have stated interest in me. I have scheduled calls with few of them over the next week. PhD in Computer Science from a Canadian school. One Professor who works in recommender systems wants me to definitely join his lab. PhD in Computer Science from top 100 school Not considering this due to better options. I am yet to hear back from a couple of universities where I interviewed. I am assuming both of them to be rejects. The financial aid from all of the above universities is pretty good from what I heard from my colleagues studying there. I have more or less boiled down my choices to the first three schools ( 1,2,3 ). The prospect of the top 3 school seems too tempting but I am not so sure about the research problems my POI is currently working on and I feel they are too applied. Also, I am afraid I will not be taking enough Computer Science courses which would help me in future prospects. I have been contacted by Professors from schools 2 and 3 whose research is more interesting to me than the top school Professor. I am not sure after the help that my Professor has done in getting me into the PhD program, it would be ethical to talk to other Professors at that school whose research interests me more. I am fairly comfortable with the locations of choices of all the schools. I wanted to ask if there are any comments that the members of this group would give me to better tackle the situation, cause honestly, I am clueless Thanks for reading. Hi all, Anyone waiting back to hear from UIUC after an interview ? My POI informed me that he has nominated me to the committee and they will approve/review. I had my interview on January 19th. Each passing day is only making me more anxious. Please share if you are in a similar boat.

Anyone here waiting after an interview with UIUC ? I have had my interview on 19th this month. I have seen multiple acceptance posts. I have not heard anything yet. *tensed*

I have been informed by my POI at SFU that I have been accepted into the CS PhD program. I think the review process is still going on.

UCSD does send out rolling based admissions. I remember seeing an email where they mention it. Also, I have seen a lot of "official" acceptances from UIUC. Could any of you guys share if the offers were direct or after an interview ? Thanks

You have been notified of your rejection ? If yes then isn't that a formal rejection ?

The results section shows that few of the accepts have been sent in mid-February. Is there any indication that there will be another set of accepts ?

Hey guys, I was casually checking my Application status of Purdue and saw that I have been "Wait-listed by the department".I applied for PhD Computer Science. Any one in the same boat ? Also, what are my chances ? P.S : I applied to six universities - CMU,UCSD,UIUC,UTA,UMass Amhrest,Purdue. Was rejected by CMU and nothing from the other four.
