  1. Finding pictures online of your girlfriend in bed next to Justin Bieber
  2. United States authorities mistaking you for Justin Bieber and deporting you to Canada? ...er, wait a minute. Canada's awesome!
  3. Hi Jesandre30, Yeah, it certainly does feel good knowing I got accepted elsewhere. It speaks more to the intense competition at the U of M rather than my total lack of competence as an applicant. I got accepted both into the MSW program at St. Cloud State University and the joint program at St. Catherine University/University of St. Thomas -- the latter was far and away my #1 program of choice if money were no object. I think I'll be attending this Autumn, but am still considering if St. Cloud's more general program just makes more financial sense. I didn't receive any specific reason for rejection, and assume it was simply due to the large pool of applicants. They admit a cohort of 120, and said they receive anywhere from 350-450 applications per year. Seemed a bit facetious to me, but it puts the acceptance rate somewhere between one-third to one-fourth of applicants being accepted. Having looked neurotically at all postings and results concerning the school, it seems like the longer you wait, the better the chance of getting in. Rejections seem to get weeded out first. If you're still in final review, I think it's a really good sign for you Good luck, and I hope your wait is almost over.
  4. Well, guess me and the U of M just don't mix. Rejection for me. It's a little funny, as they also rejected me for undergraduate studies years ago, which in a way makes me the abused spouse coming back for more. Oh well. The silver lining for me was that I'd already been accepted into two other local MSW programs, with one being arguably superior to the U of M and arguably the best MSW program in Minnesota. Was kinda attached to the U of M since they have such generous graduate assistantships and scholarships, and also because it's such a well-rounded and well-reviewed education for pretty much anyone interested in this field. Would have loved to get in, and would have especially loved to have saved money compared to the other programs. From the rejection letter, it looked like stiff competition this year. Good luck to the rest of you! The long wait is almost over
  5. Holy crackers! It went to "Final Review" this morning, and a few hours later moved to Decision Made. Have to wait a business day to view the decision. So yeah, I think you'll hear soon from them Now excuse me while I attempt not to lose my damn mind...
  6. Totally in the same boat as you. I applied by deadline in January, and my status is still "Awaiting Program Decision." At the info session I attended they said to expect a decision by mid-march. I've been obsessively checking the results page on this site, and it appears that last year the acceptances were going out exactly at this time. So any day now! I also get the impression that rejections go out first, and there was one rejection reported last week. Soooo....I also have to believe that having heard nothing yet is not such a bad thing for you and me. That is, if you can stop from chewing your freaking fingernails off
