  1. Another possibility is doing some sort of respite care, they call it different things in different states. In Wisconsin I was a respite care provider for United Cerebral Palsy and I was able to work with people with autism, downs syndrome, and cerebral palsy of all different ages. I now am in North Carolina and I am a habilitation technician for A Small Miracle where I work with people with disabilities. I think it is a great opportunity to work with different populations and unlike CNA work you do not need to be certified. I also worked as a CNA and I think that is good experience as well.
  2. I'm not sure, but here are my stats to give you an idea of what they might be looking for. I have an undergraduate degree in CSD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison GPA overall: 3.45 CSD GPA: 3.85 GRE V: 149 Q: 154 writing: 4.0 hope that helps some!
  3. Has anyone received information about enrolling and who their academic advisor will be. I just accepted my offer on 4/17 and have not heard anything back yet and have been unable to reach anyone at the school for more information. Thanks!
  4. I received an email saying I was waitlisted at North Carolina Central in early March. I called on Monday to see if they had made any decision and they told me that they are still looking at applications of those on the wait list and will have decisions "soon", so I assume that means they have not filled all their spots yet.
  5. It depends on where you live, there are deffinitely quiet places if you don't live in the heart of down town. I would say that downtown madison is pretty dominated by UW, but there is deffinitely a city outside of UW but you would need a car or you can take a bus to get there. Yes my undgrad was largely girl dominated, i think we maybe had 5 guys total.
  6. I went to Madison for my undergrad. It is a great school and the communication disorders department is great. The city is amazing, there is always something to do and it is a beautiful place to live. The communication disorders department is on the far end of campus kind of away from everything else. It is also in an older building (it used to be a dorm but they converted it to the com dis building). You will get a great education there though and have a great time living there as well. hope that helped, let me know if there is anything else you want to know about madison!
