  1. April orientation session would be the perfect place to let ppl know about the group, right? Print the link on small cards and off you go!
  2. I just asked permission to join the FB group. Yeah, that's me! If you wonder...
  3. Thank you dannika_star for creating it! I'll try to join the group Very excited ))))
  4. Congratulations to everyone who got acceptance letters so far! Something very interesting happened to me, so I will share it with you guys thinking that maybe someone can benefit from the info. Thursday I received a voice mail message from York University saying that they have a part-time program for MSW and the guy on the phone is asking me whether I want to consider this option or not? Part-time studies will take 2 years instead of 1 and comes with no funding. But I will be able to work during this time. Maybe somebody from you, who is eager to have a MSW degree would be interested in this. I am not since I will be starting in fall at U o T. You could inquire about this option if you are put on the wait-list or let York U know that you would be interested in part time studies and if there will be a chance for a spot, they should consider you as a candidate. Good luck for those who are still waiting for a decision!
  5. Well, it is very tempting, but this is something not palpable yet. I don't know how these funding things are working whether everybody gets funded or just a few and based on what criteria. I was surprised to see the amount too! But I kind of expected that I will be wait-listed or rejected, because my statement of interest wasn't quite there. I was focusing on my U o T application, this was a plan B. Anyway, it is good that I got accepted to UoT Hope that everyone will get accepted somewhere Fingers crossed!!!!
  6. Today I received an email from York U, saying : Dear MSW applicant, You have been recommended for admission into our full-time Advanced Standing MSW program @ York University but unfortunately, we do not have a spot for you at this time. We have put you on a wait-list. Please note that if a spot does open up for you, your admission offer will come with a $9000 funding package. So, York U is on the move too, sending out their acceptance letters (emails). I declined it, hoping that someone else would get my spot and hopefully will get into the program! Cheers!
  7. Thank you smpalesh! I hope to meet you and your friend too. It is so good that you are still in school! I am 10 years out from school, so it will be pretty hard to get my brain back in shape, not to tell that English is my second (third) language. I admire your strength and accomplishments so far! They are very lucky to have you in the program!
  8. Hi everyone! Today I've got my package too! I am in the seventh heaven Last night I couldn't go to sleep, it was well over 4am when I finally managed to turn my thoughts off! LOL I can't wait for the orientation session on April 7th! I hope I will meet some of you there I really wish that all of you who are still in this waiting-limbo for the 2 Year MSW will get into a program. You just have to have a little more patience. On this note I have to say that yesterday I got so inpatient that I developed an obsession on checking the mail box.
  9. Thank you Mares1325! I hope this is not a trick and it really means what we all think it means. And congrats to you too, I was very happy to read about your news too! I think I know you from a different forum site Bafta pt. Carleton!!!!
  10. Congrats to those who got accepted to U of T! I am so excited for you guys I have to admit that I've been reading this thread for months now, hoping that I would find relevant infos. Thank you for all your input, it really helped me with my application! I am a first time aplicant and I was really worried about the whole process as I am new to Canada. My BSW degree is from Europe and I have 9 years of paid social worker experience in my country. So, I've been checking my SGS uoftoronto account every day in the last 2 weeks and nothing happened, I am still under review. Than earlier today I checked on ROSI ( I had to register first) and under my status is stated INVITED. No email yet, no snail mail yet... Should I be happy or wait for the post first?! I am so excited but yet I fear that this might be a mistake... I am tormented and in the same time overwhelmed by emotions. Please advise me what to do now... Thank you!
