Nope. I applied to six different programs and kinda lost track as to which school would notify when...and how they'd do it. I ended up just grouping them all in my head as "some time in March". Hopefully sooner than later, though, b/c two of the schools I've already heard from and been accepted to have said I gotta let them know by April 1st. We shall see! If I hear anything from UNCW, though, I'll be sure to come back on here and let you know.

Wow yeah, that is very weird.I know this is a dumb question, but you've def. checked your Spam/Junk e-mail folder?? Asking because even when I went to look this morning where I'd submitted my application on their site, the status still only read "Submitted"..so you may not be able to tell from there. But just make sure you didn't miss an e-mail. But if you know you didn't, then that definitely is crazy. In all fairness, the person you spoke with may not have "lied", per se... #1, they may not have known the exact specifics of when the notifications would go out, and #2..if they told you mid-to-late March, I mean..it is almost mid, lol.. Perhaps they said that as a "at the latest" kind of a thing. With that said, yours still may actually come soon..but I know that's a helluva long time to wait, so I can't really say I blame ya. Good luck with wherever you end up going . And sorry that had to happen to you.

lol..what this person said.. I would've been P-i-S-s-E-D. I've always known how to write, and pretty well, don't get me wrong..but even still, writing those admissions statements were HELL. It's HELL for everyone. We all suffer through it. No shortcuts -- especially THAT kind -- here, buddy. I would never in a million years... No reason for you to have suffered through that full near-year of perfecting yours, only for her to come along with her tears and "borrow" notable chunks from it. That's preposterous! And also part of the purpose of the admissions statement is to demonstrate your writing capabilities, so if she is really needing to go to such an EXTREME for something that serves that kind of purpose...well, I'd just hate to think what all extremes she'll feel the need to go once in the program and having to write papers and complete large assignments on the regular. Again..you handled this well. I agree with the person who said I'm not sure I would've been so bold as to contact the school directly about it, but I know I would've felt the need to do something. The most ideal would've been if you'd become aware of it before she submitted the application, and then you could've just confronted her and demand she revise! lol.. But with your circumstances..I don't know -- I guess that's pretty much all you could do.. No point in putting your own credibility and potentially future in jeopardy because of her laziness, lack of confidence, or whatever other insufficient excuse to do something like this.. But okay, rant complete .

From what I can tell, I believe Columbia U. is one of these schools. I'd first thought I just must not have looked thoroughly enough, but yeah, so far only set of tuition and fees listed. Well, two -- it seems they only break them out by full-time and part-time; not in-state and out-of-state. So, pretty much, crazy, out-the-booty costly for eeeeeeeeverybody!

I applied there -- back maybe a day or two before their Feb. 1st deadline. And still waiting to hear... Lunarem, I'm glad to hear how much you liked the school and your program!

Helllooooooooo.. I was browsing these forums as a "lurker" when I came across this topic and decided to register an account just to reply to it..and hopefully give you some hope. I heard from them this (Friday) morning..via e-mail (I was accepted! Yay!). I'm not sure when you submitted your application, but I submitted mine like maybe a day before their late-Jan. deadline. So, you may hear from them very soon! You may wanna hold out just a lil' while longer.. I hope that helps -- good luck!
