  1. Hello there. Long time lurker, infrequent poster. I just wanted to share a resource (click here) I am developing for those of you are Dreamers/undocumented/illegal and considering graduate school. I am basically contacting as many research universities as I can and trying to get responses on their policies regarding us. It goes without saying that it is difficult to acquire information given our lack of status, so I hope this is of some help. The resource is still new, and my plan is to cover the major research universities in California, Texas, and New York first before branching out.
  2. I did my undergraduate in Economics and doing a Master's in it currently. However, if I'm truthful with myself, I'm more interested in Sociology work than Economics. I do believe that Economics has some useful research methods and that is why I am doing my Master's in it, but I'm debating whether I should go for my PhD afterward or switch over to Sociology for my PhD. I'm concerned that if I end up getting an Economics PhD I might have a hard time finding employment in a Sociology department. Ideally I'd want to get into Cal Tech's Social Science PhD program since it'd allow me to do interdisciplinary work between the two field, but failing that I'm not sure. I find it a bit silly that the two fields haven't synthesized into a new field but oh well. Anyone else in a similar situation?
