  1. I'm still unsure about attending, too.. Pending results from other schools and learning more about the program (ie: cost, curriculum, etc). Have you heard much about the program? What are your thoughts?
  2. I feel the same! The important thing is that you have a touch of green in there! Congrats!
  3. Anybody else on here accepted to the USC distance program and thinking about attending?! I have so many questions, and I'd love to connect with some potential future classmates!
  4. I think you're right. The department head said I had until April 15 before they could actually give my spot away. They just stress getting a response by the end of the month. This makes WAY more sense than what I was told by the graduate director!!
  5. Congrats everybody! I was just accepted into my first school yesterday, too!! It's such a great feeling to add a little green to my signature, and I'm so excited to see it in so many of yours, as well! CONGRATS AGAIN! You all deserve it!!
  6. I know, it's SUCH a huge deposit! I asked for an extension, and they said I wouldn't be able to. I have to make a decision by the 31! I'm hoping I can at least hear from all my schools by then. If I don't get any other offers, I'll just take it. I mean it's better that than pray to get into a wait-listed school. With the 1000, I figure if the other school is a much cheaper option, I will take that into consideration, and it might be worth throwing the 1000 in, anyway. Any thoughts?
  7. Hello, I'm in the same situation! I still have to hear from half of my schools (and find out if I get off wait lists for two more schools), but the school I've been accepted to wants me to accept my position with $1,000 down by March 31! Not quite sure what to do... any suggestions?
  8. I know SLPA positions are hard to find, but it's definitely possible to get a position. After graduating last spring, I took a year off to strengthen my resume before applying to graduate school (trying to make up for my fairly-low GPA). I looked for SLPA jobs everywhere in the state, and I could only find three. THREE! (so frustrating) I felt the same kind of uncertainty you're probably feeling now about finding a position, but I ended up being interviewed for all three, and was offered each position. I actually was able to choose which one I wanted! I'm hoping that the experience will help me to get into grad school... but so far it doesn't look so great. Hope this helps...
  9. I know, it's driving me insane!! It seems like in years past, this is the busiest week. As it is, I've still only heard from two... and none of the notifications were this week. I guess I'll continue waiting... and checking the admissions page... and my email... and the mail... and these forums
  10. My professor/advisor/graduate director stated that the length of time it took to complete your undergrad is not important (at this school, anyway). However, they do look to see how many classes were repeated. If you've only repeated one or two, it probably wouldn't make a difference. If several were repeated, they may question why. Of course every school is different, though!
  11. Hi all, I'm new to gradcafe, but this thread is PERFECT for me. I've only heard from two schools, and no acceptance yet ... praying for some good news from the next few schools!
