  1. Now I have two choices between Stanford IPS program with full tuition sholarship and SAIS with no information on funding yet. Though SAIS has a very strong China Program with amazing location in DC and good alumni network, I wonder if Stanford's bigger name is more attractive? Could you give me some advice on this situation? I would love to hear different vocies. Thanks!
  2. I also got accepted to both MSFS and SAIS, in DC campus!
  3. Hey, I've sent out all my applications and am waiting for the results. I got a good intern position and started the internship after my application. This internship position closely matches my interests and the programs I've applied for. However, as i know, the admissions may not accept additional material after the deadline, right? Do you think I need to tell the admission about my new work experience and if it still helps when they review my application? Thanks for your advice:-)
  4. Hi, I just got accepted into the MPIA program in IR/PS, the priority round. but I didn't have any interview. Also, they don't mention about funding in the admission letter. How can I get to know about the financial aid? Does anyone know about this program?
  5. Hey, wendylee86, I'm in the Public and Economic Policy track. The expenses in London are deadly expensive, so I'm also waiting for some other decisions. What other programs are you looking for? It seems that we have the choice of studying in SIPA in the second year. Do we need to apply this year?
  6. I just got accepted to the 2 year MPA program in LSE. The second year may study in SIPA, but it depends on my application. However, the program doesn't provide any financial aid right now. Does anyone know about the MPA program in LSE? I'm not sure if it is a good choice to go.
  7. I took both GRE and GMAT. However, both scores are not competitive. (GRE 600+800+4.5, GMAT 700+5). For GRE, the writing is low. For GMAT, the verbal is quite low (only 64%) while the quant is 99%. For some programs which accept both GMAT and GRE (KSG, SAIS), which score should I use? Will they look at the total score of GMAT or look at verbal and quant seperately? Thanks:-)
  8. When I studied abroad last semester, one of my recommenders was the Department Chair. Therefore, I registered him as Chair in my recommendation's provider's list. However, I just got to know that he is currently the Graduate Program Director since this semester. I couldn't change his information now... will it be a big problem if the information I gave doesn't match the information given by my recommender? Thanks if any one knows how to deal with this situation.
  9. I couldn't make it in this round....Sad :-( Just want to know, how many will get admitted in the EN?
  10. Lacking WE is the my weak point in applying to these top MPP/IR programs directly from undergraduate. I wonder if my 4.0 GPA , one year study abroad, several internships(government, foreign bank, NGOs) could help the whole package? I have a clear idea and a specific issue I want to address in the SOP. P.S. I'm an international applicant. My GRE Verb can't compete with native students. Will there be a different criteria for international applicants? Thanks for your advice.
  11. wow, fantastic scores and international experience! Are you an undergraduate now? Which field of study are you looking for?
  12. How WWS or HKS selects applicant? Is it true that they only admit people with extensive and decent international/ UN work experience? I'm a senior in college right now. I wonder if they will consider undergraduate applicant, if I have a clear and specific career goal in the personal statement.
