Nopes, I’m yet to confirm. I’m trying to evaluate the quality of courses and faculty members. I have received admit from IIT in Data Science as well.

Hi Supriya, First you have to register for courses and there’s no guarantee to it because there will be rush (first-cum-first serve). Unless we know which courses you are planning to take, it’s difficult to suggest any books. Also, few Professors will suggest no books for their course. It depends. If I were in your situation, I would relax now, enjoy these days at home, and bother only in July-August after I have registered for the courses, because it’s going to be very hectic in the college

I haven’t gotten into these colleges, but i would like to suggest few things: 4. If you want to do an internship, you should defer for Fall − 2014 season and join Spring - 2015. You can take up internship during summer (3 months break) 3. Unlike most colleges(3 credit), each course at Cornell is of 4-credits + 6 credits of project, so this boils down to taking 6 courses. This is good if you want to develop depth in a particular area, else MS in Columbia is far better option. They are also similar with regard to costs and placement. Regards

I agree to your points. Just to add that it is better to have few industrial experience and make some industry connections before joining graduate school to mentally and financially help in all the five points you mentioned above.

My recommendation is to join IIT, if you feel that you are done with GRE and you cannot improve much in GRE. With a GRE score of 297, it’s hard to get into the remaining three universities you mentioned above. I have mixed feeling about the Professional Master’s in CS. You should look into the courses and the syllabus, figure out something about the quality of courses and the professors.
