  1. The time-line of funding offers seems to vary amoung programs. One school offered funding immediately, the others made their offers closer to the deadline. I would encourge you to communicate with the programs you are accepted into regarding your specific needs. Stay in contact with the programs you are interested in. I'm the AUD department chair's GA and she was telling me that they are starting the review process next week. Good luck to all.
  2. Don't worry, you will be tossed into the "deep-end" in either program...14-16 hours of class and 12-20 hours of clinic time per week will more than fill your weeks. Don't forget labs, research, and studying. It is managable, and I am sure you will be fine. Regarding funding, I was offerred various levels of funding by each of the 4 programs I applied to, so it is availible. I would also suggest you discuss in-state tuition possibilities, I know all of the out of state students in my cohort pay in-state tuition rates. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask!
  3. I was in a similar position, as an older student (45) I debated between a three and four year program. Being less compressed, the four year program offers more breaks during the year which allows me to spend time with my wife and keep up with my home and the various responsibilites associated with being a home owner. I have found the program (any aud program I assume) to be extremely time consuming and demanding, I'm not sure I would be able to keep up with everything in a 3 year program. Good Luck.
  4. As the application process is winding down, I was wondering if there are any programs anyone is still waiting to hear from? Considering the multiude of hoops we had to jump through (and the costs), simple application status updates doesn't seem unreasonable.
  5. I did my undergraduate work at CMU and they have offered me a position in the grad program. The facilities are excellent, I visited numerous programs, in various states and found very few that have as complete a clinic. The audiology faculty have always been very supportive. Clinical Placements can require some travel, but I have heard no complaints from the current grad. students. Mt. Pleasant is a small, college town in central Michigan, don't expect too much excitement. If you are an outdoors person, Michigan is a beautiful state. Within 2 hours of Mt. Pleasant, depending on the season, you can find great hiking and biking trails, Lake Michigan, ski and snowboard areas, camping ect. I doubt grad. school will leave any of us much time, but I think the area has enough to offer to make the limited free time enjoyable. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
