  1. Hi all, I'm engaged and planning to get married within the next two years - however I am currently working on my PhD, so I will still be in school when the wedding happens. Our wedding budget is almost nonexistent, which means the number of people we can invite is extremely limited. My main question is, what is the etiquette for whom to invite? I don't want to sound horrible - but I don't really want to invite anyone from my department for several reasons: money, the wedding will be in a different (far away) location, I associate people from my grad school life with stress, etc. However, I recognize that I should probably invite some people from the department (besides my advisor). Any thoughts or recommendations?
  2. Now everyone is going to crash the servers all night...
  3. I doubt that I will post if I am turned down - I don't really like to spread bad news. BUT if I get the award, I'll want everyone and their cat to know. So I am sure there is a bias.
  4. Silly question: If you're denied/rejected, how does NSF phrase that? On fastlane where it says "Final Status" will it say "Denied", "Rejected", "Not Accepted"? I only ask because I don't want to scan the page and see "Accepted" and be excited only to realize the word before it is "Not". Am I crazy for wondering?
  5. It doesn't mean anything. It's just general HTML code that's been commented out. Everyone will be able to see this.
  6. Question about the decision notification: When the decision emails are sent out, are the reference letter writers also notified of the decision or only the applicants?
