  1. Hi, Can anybody tell me the cost of attending Masters at UCSD. I am not seeing cost per credit. The only fee that is provided for out of state student per quarter is 10k. So I am assuming If the course is completed in 4 quarters the cost should 4*10 =40k and if done in 5 quarters it should be 5*10-50k. Am I Right? How is it for other Universities? Thanks!
  2. Is the cost the same if you finish early? If you finish the course in say 3 quarters then is the tuition fees only 3 quarters or do you have to still pay for 6 quarters?
  3. Would love to know what people think on this. I am in a similar kind of a situation. I think the choice is between UIUC(reputation) vs Stony Brook(low cost).
  4. Hey zaphyr, I was looking at the computer science rankings. UCSD TAMU Computer Science Ranking (2014) #15 #40 Computer Engineering Ranking (2015) #11 #21 Moreover UCSD ranking is progressive,
  5. Thanks Rantar and Flandre Scarlet. So UCSD it is!! Just another question. How long will it take to complete Masters (non-thesis) at UCSD? Note: UCSD is a quarter system. I was hoping to do it in 1.5 years (4 quarters).
  6. Thanks for you reply GermanStudent. I have talked to a few friends at TAMU and they believe I should go to UCSD. I needed a UCSD perspective. Pros of UCSD: 1)I have heard the placements are great and much better than TAMU. 2)Also the batch size is smaller at UCSD 3)The tag of UCSD in the silicon valley is widely recognized. 3) San Diego is a better place than college station. Cons: 1)Fees which twice or 15k more. But this is somewhat the average for the top 20 universities. 2) The cost of living is also twice. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  7. Hi, I have been admitted to TAMU and UCSD for CS. Planning for non-thesis. I would have taken UCSD(#15) over TAMU(#40) hands down but the problem is the finances. I-20 Amounts: UCSD= 55k [30k Tuition + 25k Living Expenses] TAMU = 33k [15k Tuition + 20k Living Expenses] Problem: 1)I don't have 55k to show in liquid assets. Only possible through a loan + liquid assets. Is that fine? 2)Is the difference in geographical location + tag + job opportunities + education huge so as to overlook the financial aspect? Thanks for all your answers!!
