Haha, nah not yet I have only been working here at the Columbia Medical Center for about a year and a half, and I enjoy the atmosphere. I figure, why try to fix something that definitely ain't broken? The Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine program is great in the sense that it's a decently small program (~ 6 students matriculate each year) so the graduate school is very attentive to every student's needs, there are lots of PI's here doing very interesting cancer biology research (which is what I think I want to pursue a PhD on), and lastly, the coursework seemed very engaging! All in all, a pretty good match for me I wish Dartmouth would update me on their decision though - It has been more about 2.5 weeks since I visited there and it's been complete radio silence. Not that I would attend Dartmouth, but it would be cool to have some closure.

It's official - I have declined all of my other offers, and decided to go with Columbia's Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine program!

Just received an offer from Columbia's Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine program! Columbia is most definitely my top choice for pursuing graduate studies, so I am really happy. Looking forward to spending the next 5 years in the city!

I believe that the last interview weekend for Columbia Biological Sciences is some time near mid-March, so maybe they are waiting to finish all the interviews before sending out any offers?

I talked to Ms. Zaya Sivo. I think it's possible that Ms. Sivo was referring to the fact that they have already made a decision from the systems biology department, but it could be that the formal processing takes a bit longer because of having to go through so much red tape. If Dr. Diana Murray told you that you have been accepted, I am sure you will get an offer from them soon. Since she is the department head of Systems Biology, I am definitely sure that she knows what she is talking about! However, as for CMBS, I have seen that a few people have already made posts about receiving offers from the program (http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=Columbia+integrated).

I work at Columbia and I talked in person to the graduate program coordinator today. She said that if it's C2B2 (systems biology) or any of the other disciplines within the Integrated program, the first round of invites for them have already been sent out. However, since Columbia has rolling admissions, more offers MAY be sent out in March based up on the number of people who accept/reject from the initial batch. Offers for Pathobiology and Molecular Medicine will be sent out tomorrow or Wednesday. Also the Dean was out for Thursday and Friday of last week, and the first round of Integrated program offers were all sent out on Wednesday.

Which program for Columbia?

Got rejected from UChicago Cancer Biology. I loved the university when I visited in January, and I thought I would get an offer from them since the interview went well. Oh well Good news is that if I now receive an offer from Columbia, I don't have to tear my hair out trying to choose between my two top choices, given that the choice has already been made for me

For some schools (e.g. Rockefeller) it is preferable that you contact PI's you are interested in beforehand, otherwise it is much harder to get an interview invite (at least that's the impression I got from talking to students and from my own experience). That being said, I didn't do it for any of the schools I applied to, but I probably would have done so for Rockefeller had I known earlier.

Anyone hear back from UChicago Cancer Biology? Interviewed there on Jan 28-30th weekend, haven't heard anything back yet. Saw that someone posted in the results section that they got an offer, wanted to confirm if they have already sent out a few/all offers.

I am in the same boat as you. Applied to 14 schools last year, got a single interview, which resulted in a waitlist that I never made off of. Decided to work as a research for a year, and things have changed drastically in just one year! I have interviews at almost all of my top choices, and I got an acceptance in hand already. So note to others - don't lose hope If things don't work out for you this year, just try to fix your shortcomings, and I am sure you will make it next year!

Decided to decline Boston University and Mayo Graduate School's interview offers. I had accepted the offer before I had heard back from Weill Cornell, but thankfully they didn't buy any plane tickets for me yet. At least this way it's a win-win - I save their money and my time, and there might be a small chance that they will extend interview invite to someone else instead.

Hey DJ, I am not exactly sure. But since they have another interview weekend, I have an inkling that they might send out a few more in February. Can't be 100% sure though, sorry

Got rejection email from Mount Sinai yesterday. They said they liked my credentials, but didn't think I was a good fit for the program Also, just called UCSD Biological Sciences. All of their interview invites have been sent out already. So there goes another.

I got invited to UMass MCB before Christmas I believe, not sure about the other ones. They invited me to their interview weekend on Feb 5-6. Might reject the interview though.

I think they are sending them out in batches, because I saw in the results page that someone received an invite before Christmas, and I only just got one yesterday. UCLA sent out a number of invites before Christmas, but someone posted on this forum yesterday that they got an invite, so I am guessing they are also sending out in batches. I am also waiting on UCLA's interview

Based on their overwhelmingly positive evaluation I am pleased to invite you to attend our Recruitment Weekend for potential graduate students, which will be: Sunday, February 28 and Monday, February 29, 2016 I haven't confirmed with them yet whether I am going or not, since Rockefeller was on the same date. But now that I have been rejected from Rockefeller, I suppose I will send them an email tonight/Monday
