  1. Congratz, girl! That's amazing news. Maybe there is room for ooooooone more alternate to be converted to P status
  2. Thank you, and congratulations on your (P)!
  3. Thank you - and same to you!! Even though we're frozen in a bizarre waiting/hoping/despairing state for the moment, I'm still optimistic and will keep my fingers crossed for all of us members of the (A) team.
  4. I'm hoping that we'll hear back within the month, but, as it says in the email, we could potentially be selected up until the end of the "Fulbright year." I guess it could be months til finding out
  5. Thank youuu! I'm reeeally hoping to get bumped up to dat (P) status
  6. I just received the (A) for Russia - I suppose I'll dance around in limbo for awhile with fingers crossed
  7. It's such a relief to hear that!! Thank you for contacting her:D
  8. Still waiting on Russia ETA news, so I completely feel your pain/anxiety. I'm reeeeeally hoping that we hear back this week (/today). I can't maintain this lifestyle of stress feasting each day that I don't receive a notification - it's becoming quite costly and horrifying. lol
  9. I hope that this means no later than Friday (for all of us Eurasian homeys)!
  10. Yeah, it's definitely been a worrisome idea, but I'm trying to stay optimistic about it. Like the American Councils president Dan Davidson said, “This is a time when our peoples should increase dialog and exchange of ideas regarding both shared interests and common challenges, rather than decrease them"--I feel like Fulbright would be more beneficial than ever during this time of conflict, but we shall see. Fingers crossed!
  11. I'm ridin' the Eurasia Stress boat (applied for Russia ETA) and feel your pain. :/ Hopefully, Scandinavia and Eurasia applicants receive news today!:
  12. She asked me how I thought I'd fare during a Russian winter, and I was trying to tell her that I'm always the weirdo out in the streets when it's snowing with no tights/pants on but forgot how to say "pants" and went with "leg things" instead. Russian at it's finest hah But yeah, I agree. I'm guessing that we all passed the test of basic conversational abilities, at the very least!
  13. I actually ended up really enjoying the interview--but was paralyzed with terror before doing it haha I was convinced that I wouldn't understand/be able to communicate and look like a buffoon, but I think it went smoothly and we laughed a lot which (I think??) is a good thing. I spoke with Marina; how about you? Did you guys talk about the basic stuff like why do you want to do the fulbright, what would you do in the classroom, what teaching experience do you have, etc?
  14. I applied for an ETA slot as well. And yes, I was wondering if/when any Russian applicants would emerge! I sososo hope that they tell us this week because, as it turns out, feasting in front of my computer and stalking emails 24/7 has proven not to be a promising or healthy way of life. Here's to hearing back soon, and good luck to you guys!
  15. Hey--I applied for Russia as well. Deeefinitely hoping that we find out sooner than April 17 (last year's notification date, I believe), but I don't have any inside info :/
  16. Hey homeys--I've finally decided to emerge from my lurker shell to join this party! I've been recommended for the Russia ETA position and have been playing it pretty cool in terms of anxiety/sanity levels until April hit--now the excitement and mania are starting to catch up to me, and I figure that it is time to share (unleash) the crazy and the nerves on you who understand these sentiments all too well:D Good luck to everyone still waiting, and congratz to those who've heard good news back!
