Just got an admit email from Berkeley! I am officially flipping out. $21,000 for five years, and $4,000 for summers. Seems like the budget crisis hasn't hit the grad funding (yet).

Seems that way. I had a free afternoon (thanks to the DC sno-pocalypse!) and tried to call the department and only got voicemail. My sense is that they're swamped in calls right now.

Good god I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just let out a yelp when I read the subject line in Gmail (in the middle of my office)...

Color me skeptical, too (although like cpaige I may be trying to rationalize my lack of notification!)... Both the Political Science Department and the Graduate Studies Division are closed until January 7th. They said they wouldn't be processing requests or responding to communication until then.
