  1. Hard to say, prolly just the generic waitlist email, though very kindly worded and implied a small waitlist: "Our admissions committee reviewed over 250 applications, and we were able to admit just about 10% of those who applied. "
  2. I'll claim that UMN waitlist, gos it's nice to get some validation, even if I don't get in. So many rejections so far, I'm now a believer in "it only takes one" :-). If you're in at UMN and don't plan on going PLEASE let them know.
  3. NSSR Update: from an email with a survey that they wanted me to take. I'm applying for the MA. "UPDATE: The Admissions Committees are hard at work selecting the fall 2010 class. The fist decision letters are scheduled to be mailed beginning March 10. After that date they will continue to be mailed as decisions are made." After going 0 for all of my PhDs I'm pretty much holding out for the 4 MAs I went for, much more waiting to go...
  4. I'm in the same boat with Northwestern, and misery it is, especially since I'm theory and a lot of theory folks have already been rejected perthe results page, why hold out?!
  5. I can only speak to question 1, but I studied daily or at least 4-5 times a week for about 2.5 months out of the Barron's book and took the free ETS online tests and test preps.
  6. Just got an application acknowledgement letter from the New School, no timeline stated, but a sneaky sentence: "Our staff looks forward to working with you throughout the application process and will contact you directly if any additional steps are required." they had me until "the application process"
  7. This thread now has over 20,000 views
  8. wow trmcummi, can't believe you beat me to posting that one.
  9. Ok, first word in from Toronto: "This notice is being sent to inform you that your application to 'MA-Political Science' is now under review and pending a decision. If you log into the SGS system, you will see that your application is now in Under Review status." First cycle for me, gosh these schools get your heart rate up with all of these fluff e-mails.
  10. Who wants to start a Tina Slater fan club on Facebook?
  11. ^^Same, I didn't notice that they start the e-mail with a congrats though, that is pretty sneaky. I'm wondering if the post on the results page isn't from an insider. FWIW I looked at last years admit stats 350 apps for 12 slots... PS, I'd wish you good luck, but I'm doing theory too, oh what the hell, good luck
  12. I'm asking about which score to report. I'm applying to mostly public universities for a Ph.D. in Political Science My first GRE I got 660V(94%), 710Q(73%), 5AW(81%) 2nd time I got 670V(95%), 740Q(80%), 4AW(41%) Most schools seem to more or less require that only one exam date be used when reporting scores. While the 4AW on the second date is very ugly, the second date is a 1410 which looks better than a 1370. What do y'all think? When it asks for a registration number for your GRE that constrains you to one exam date, right?
