I'm also on the waitlist. I posted in the math and stats forum on here with a similar question and haven't gotten a response. However, from looking through old posts and the Results Search, it really does sound like they make some admits and then put everyone else on the waitlist until they fill their class. I think I saw a reject in the results search from either last year or a previous year that was recorded in May. I have no idea what the chances are of getting accepted off the waitlist, but I'm really curious!

I'm not sure how things are for MPA programs specifically, but I think it depends on the department and the school. I had a friend in engineering get into a masters program in July last year. I'm applying for statistics masters programs and applied to a few rolling admissions/late deadline programs: Brown (rolling, applied in March), Columbia (rolling, final deadline June 2), Georgia State (July 1), and Troy University (rolling, but I applied in Feb and haven't heard back). I doubt our chances of getting accepted are that much lower, especially since it wouldn't be fair for programs with later deadlines to fill up their class early on and still accept applications from everyone else. I also don't think funding and assistantships are out of the question since many programs decide on funding over the summer/beginning of fall, but once again, it depends on the department/school. I'm on the waitlist for the MA Statistics program at Columbia. From what I've read on this forum, it sounds like they basically admit some number of people and put everyone else on the waitlist. Looking through the results search, it doesn't actually look like the MA program rejects anyone until they've filled the class. Does anyone know what the chances are of actually getting accepted off the waitlist?
