Congratulations to you too! I am excited, just worried about the funding situation, as I've heard that its not good.

Any of the Wisconsin people out there heard any rumors about funding (besides what it says in the letter about news coming in 4-6 weeks)?

Here's mine: I didn't major in my proposed field (US History), my undergrad GPA is less than stellar (although my grad GPA was much better), my quant GRE was in 44th percentile, and one of my recommenders just submitted his letter only a few days ago! (deadlines were Dec 15 and and Jan 15).

I have two upcoming meetings this next week - set up/encouraged by professors with whom I had emailed before I applied to their respective schools. I too, was wondering if this was normal, as I haven't heard any other History peeps that have been doing this...and I'm a little nervous about what to wear, things to ask, etc, since they are not formal interviews.
