Congrats! Any word on funding?
Congrats guys! Are you both comp?

Bump.
Sorry for necromancing this thread, but since we're now approaching the results date(s), I'm wondering if anyone has yet received word from any Canadian Political Science programs? I'm asking about MA programs, specifically.
I've noticed just one acceptance from York University on March 1st. An acceptance that early seems a little dubious though, considering the inevitable increase in application volumes this year.
Any insights/results/useless banter are much appreciated.
I don't know about MA programs, but I haven't heard anything for the PhD...sorry, I'm sure that is not much help....

Not being a US or Canada or EU citizen, I do not think any program that is not fully funded would work for me, no loans available.
Besides, faith is the least thing I need now, since my extremely religious dad has started the "god gives us what is good for us. maybe grad school wasn't good for you" talk
I'm being given the same kind of speech, minus the explicit god references....I have now accepted that my cycle is pretty much over - so either I make a new life plan, or try again next year....

Why hasn't Columbia sent out rejections yet? This is getting ridiculous...
-
Here's what appears to be going on at Georgetown. I received an email sent to 24 students inviting us to a prospective students day on March 26. However, the department accepted 92 students last year. So I'm guessing that means they still have to accept another 70-odd students! The catch is that they're only likely to fund those who have received news so far (they funded 8 PhD candidates last year).
What is your subfield?

IN AT GEORGETOWN!!!!!
I AM SO HAPPY!!!! THERE IS HOPE FOR ALL OF YOU WHO THINK THEY'RE NOT DONE ADMITTING
WOO HOO!!!!!1!!!!1!!!!
Congrats!!!! How were you contacted? Was it a mass e-mail?

Brown was only one. Even though it is claimed, it is enough for me to assume I am rejected. I mean, fake Harvard posts might have been fun for the poster since there were many hoping to hear from them and they were really anxious about it. But faking a Gtown post is like going to a Clippers game at the last match of the season
not saying its fake, just that they might not be done yet.....look at last year's results
-
Regarding Georgetown, I saw some funded acceptances and waitlisted-for-funding acceptances on results page. So I'm guessing they are done with acceptances.
There were only 2, by phone, and neither were claimed on this board, as far as I can tell...I wouldn't count out Gtown just yet....
-
Has anyone claimed to Gtown acceptances??
-
I'm anxiously awaiting a decision from Gtown, but even if I get in w/fellowship (for IR) I would probably be on the fence. I can't seem to get a good sense of the strength of the department and job opportunities after graduation. What do you all think?

Has anyone not heard anything from Cornell--I haven't heard anything from our pal Tina yet? I'm quite sure I will be rejected based on my earlier results from similarly competitive programs...I figure they will probably finish up the rejections on Monday though, thus delaying the inevitable.
I haven't heard anything from Cornell either. I'm not that far down the alphabet, so I don't really get it...
-
Rejected from both cornell and upenn today. wow, i guess that's the final word. grad school is not in the future for me next year
so sorry....I think there are a couple of us who will end up in the same boat....are you planning on reapplying next year?
-
Has Cornell sent out their waitlist?
Also, Cicero, if you could try your magic hand at Gtown, it would be much appreciated
-
So we can safely assume that MIT is done, right?
-
My Columbia application was JUST updated to "complete" and "at department" in the last day. Did this happen to anyone else? I wonder if I didn't get full consideration because it took so long for them to process my application.
This is very weird. Have they released the waitlist yet?
Mine is weird too: over "status" it says "complete eno" and over "at department" it says "yes"...
It probably doesn't mean anything, honestly, but I would love a Columbia waitlist...
-
I hope Cornell isn't done yet. I'd like to have one thing that isn't a rejection. Just one. I'm starting to look seriously into a backup plan.
I'm in the same situation, brouhaha...it is seriously depressing....I'm just hoping for a token waitlist at this point, just so this process doesn't entirely destroy my ego...
-
OMG. Just accepted at Cornell. Literally shaking as I type this.
Funding comes tomorrow. No word on visit days. Can't think right now.
Amazing news!
Was the e-mail personalized?
-
Does anyone have any news on Cornell?
Official word is "sometime in March"
Does anyone have inside info?
-
I know someone has mentioned Georgetown before - but I forget, will we be hearing from them next week?
-
In at MIT, wait list for funding. Received a letter (FedEx) today. Letter was mailed yesterday, so it might take another day to arrive depending on where you live (I live in Boston). 360 applicants, 7% accepted.
Congrats!

Got an official no from Yale today for the MA. I feel pretty led on. This one actually really hurts.
Ouch, that's kind of evil of them....
-
I talked to the grad secretary on the phone late last week and she told me that applicants would start hearing this week and that everyone will have heard something by end of next week...
Hmmm...I was told that everyone would hear by the end of this week...I guess it depends who you speak to on the phone....perhaps someone would like to try again, see what they have to say today?
-
Must just be the timezone thing then.
Yeah, time to pray for a waitlist...
Ziz, congrats on our UofT acceptance. Was it for Philosophy? I'm waiting for Political Science....
-
In an ideal world, Minnesota and MIT could finish up by the end of the week. That would make this coming weekend a hell of a lot more fun (even if I didn't get in to either, although an admission from at least one of the two would be better).
MIT will be this week for sure.
