No idea! I suspect though that if two or more people have the exact same subGPA, they need to start looking at other averages to decide... But who knows. -

I think you should email them. They don't count certain courses, for example, any courses in education or practicums. I think everyone who applied got that housing email -

SAME! I got almost the same numbers I expected, except that they averaged one of my semesters which brought me down from what I had, but only by .01. I wonder why they did that rather than taking the grade that followed. -

I guess it depends how you look at it. It could work in your favour to not have A- because that means that even if you get 80% you still get a 3.8. But I know what you mean, it would only be good if you have more low A's than high A's. At the end of the day they're still A's, though! Ps. It could be that the people you're talking about did some of their pre-requisites in their first or second year, (I know I did) so it wouldn't affect their sGPA -

I wouldn't worry too much. I remember asking UofT a long time ago something similar and they told me B+ and above is looked at favourably (of course, the higher the better). If you had a B or below then maybe (but not necessarily) in your favour to re-do. I don't think many people would re-take a B+. -

Last year, it was about 36 people. Ranges from 33-36 from what I understand. Not sure what this year will be like. -

I have no real back ups - SLP is it for me. I can't think of anything else that would suit me better. I do teach ESL so maybe I would keep doing that or something in rehabilitation. Or language research. Only sure about SLP! -

Hey everyone, Do you know if ORPAS will tell us how they calculated our GPA and when? I remember some of last year's applicants talking about how ORPAS calculated some things differently so I wonder how we can see their final numbers. My application shows they've had my transcript for a few days now. Thanks! -

Good idea, although I think you need to have the referees mail them in themselves, Vancity. I was told I could not mail them directly. -

Hi all, Does anyone know if McGill converts grades like ORPAS does? I noticed that their grading scale only allows for A-(3.7) or A(4.0) and no in between (3.8). Does that mean that all my "A's" would be a 4.0 as well as my "A+'s"? (I wish.. lol) or do my A's become 3.7's? -

I would try to research the way these universities convert specific GPAs from different American schools. For example, in some American schools over 80% = 4.0, but in others it is only over 90%-95% (like in Canada). -

I am so sorry you're going through this. I would call them first thing in the morning. I heard someone say that ORPAS is lenient with additional documents that are missing after the due date, but I am not sure how true this is. I hope you're not disqualified. That is a huge nightmare. -

Hi! Does anyone know what is the exact time frame for McGill to submit documents? Is it 11:59 pm on the 15th or before that? Also, do they only require the syllabi for our statistics courses or other prerequisite courses also? Thank you! -

Hey, don't stress! I asked again and got this response: "If a resumé and or award section were required, there would be a place in the Personal Submissions section of the application for you to upload this document. As you will see from the ORPAS Programs Requirements Chart (pg 23 of the ORPAS Instruction Booklet), resumés are not listed as a requirement for the SLP programs." -

I emailed them but they gave me a really vague answer about how it may not apply to me. Best to email them and maybe you'll get a better answer (please post if you do!). I looked for it several times and I couldn't find where to upload it either. -

Hello, Does anyone know whether we need to provide confirmation to any universities about upcoming graduation or simply state that we will be graduating and when? Thanks! -

Hi! Is the deadline for ORPAs the 16th or the 9th? What is the difference between those two deadlines they have listed? -

Thanks for your reply! I am not applying to either of those so hopefully my references are good and weighed less than my grades. Although I am probably just being paranoid! -

Better to do it sooner than later. Your references appreciate having time to write a good letter. Mine took about 3 weeks to submit everything because they are pretty busy usually. For McGill you submit the references' info online and an automatic email is sent to them with all the forms to upload. I would do it way before the 15th which is when the submissions deadline closes - you cannot submit anything after that and neither can your references from what I understand.
