  1. Hi everyone, I will be starting my studies in biomedical engineering this fall! I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good neighborhood  to live in?

Fall creek is where a lot of the graduate students live, more so than collegetown I believe.

  2. You could certainly frame it in the context of asking for a collaborative project, but I think it might come across better if you propose a project that you would be interested in undertaking, and asking if that would be a possibility under her mentorship. This way, you would come in with an understanding that there are opportunities to do the kind of research you are interested in, and she would not be surprised concerning your focus. You say that you're interested in connecting to the bigger pictures implications, so propose something that would demonstrate that! Congrats on the acceptance, too :)

  3. A good/horrible problem to have - I was just invited to interview at one of my top choice programs (program A). Unfortunately, it is during the same weekend as another top choice program (program B ), and I have already accepted the invitation and booked tickets for program B. These two programs are tied for my top choice, so I'm wondering if turning down the interview at program A will mean I will not be accepted later down the line. Has anyone experienced this issue? What were your outcomes? Thanks!

  4. Whoa on fastlane this morning I noticed this on education and work experiences.

List teaching and work experiences relevant to your field of study since entering college/university. Experiences do not have to be limited to the academic realm. (Up to but no more than five are recommended.)

I have ten listed 5 research and 5 teaching. shit. is everyone sticking to the 5 recommended?

That doesn't show up on mine, where does it say this?

  5. If I want to apply under behavioral neuroscience, would it be better to submit an application under the Life Sciences division (Neurosciences) or the Psychology division (physiological psychology)?
