Is anyone applying for manufacturing/SCM/logistics ? I'm an International applicant to a non thesis program. I'm finding it hard to decide between Umich Ann Arbor and Gatech for MS IE, How are both for SCM? Does anyone have an Idea of what is a better place to be .. Atlanta or Ann Arbor for IE Jobs, Interns? Would the economy in MI be a deciding factor for an aspirant (for manufacturing)? Gatech seems very rigid in terms of coursework.., also doesn't seem like I can go to the B school for free electives.. which I know is a possibility at UMich's Ross B-School. Also I hear that gatech is more research oriented with while Umich is more business/industry focussed..any thoughts on that?

Has anyone here applied to IE programs that offer more of a Manufacturing concentration? I've liked the IE programs in OSU , NCSU, Purdue , Penn State and The University of Wisconsin Madison.. Are there any other underrated schools that have more of the manufacturing-technology based courses? I have a production systems/six sigma/ lean mfg background, but I'm looking to shift streams into the technical side of manufacturing.. 1430 GRE, 3.78 GPA Industrial and Production engineering - small school at India. Worked in manufacturing for 6 months .

Try the research group at University of Salford in the UK. They have some pretty cool acoustic engineering programs.
