I got off the waitlist at U of A !!!!!!!! So excited!!!!! Congrats to everyone who go accepted and waitlisted today. There is still time for acceptances so don't feel discouraged. Those of you rejected I understand how it feels. This was my second year applying, I was rejected last year. Don't give up if this is what you want to do keep trying!!!
Does anyone know if there is a facebook group started for U of A yet?
Congrats!! And yes there is a group it's right here https://www.facebook.com/groups/727391434044092/

Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!
I haven't heard from UofT today so I'm assuming I didn't get in.
I am 95% sure I will be declining my acceptance to Western because I also got accepted to Alberta. I like the structure of the Alberta program more, and my boyfriend lives in Vancouver. So although it's a bit pricier to live in Edmonton, I think it's the school for me
Does anyone know if all 56 people are always in the same classes together at Alberta?
-
I also got accepted to Western! I'm so surprised and now I have no idea if I should choose Alberta or Western. HELP!
-
Yay congrats!
CONGRATSSS!!!
Congrats!
Thanks everybody!! I'm still very curious to see if I'd get into Western, but I think I'm already sold on Alberta.
This is so surreal! I didn't expect to hear this soon!
Someone should start a facebook group soon so we can all get to know our future classmates

So just to confirm, Toronto will most likely email us in the daytime on April 1st, but Western will update our student center accounts at midnight Ontario time? The suspense is killing me!
-
I figured it out - I was personally logging on to the wrong website so you guys might have been too!
You need to go to ROSI and use your student number to make yourself a pin, and then log in there. The login website from the first email we got was just the website for housing.
On ROSI, mine just says "no registration history" under the registration headline
-
What do peoples' registration statuses say on the UofT website? I know a few days ago there was nothing listed. Mine shows up as "invited" now.
Mine still says applicant data not found
Anybody else?

For all of you people waitlisted at U of A, just thought I would share a recently received email from the school that was addressed to 30 students regarding registration. I would assume this means there are still 25 or so individuals who have yet to accept/decline their offer. Hope this helps <3
Thank you!!

Honestly, if it doesn't update I do not think its a big deal. I already had a student number, and a rosi account, and my didn't update at all. I called Mabel and she told me that you wouldn't be able to check the status online anyways, everyone will be contacted directly, either by email or mail, after April 1st.
Thanks for this! So Toronto will be contacting people directly (most likely by email I'm assuming), but does anyone know how we find out about Western?
-
You got a student number from UofT from JOINId right?
Try activating SWS/ROSI with dat student id (click first time users)... See if it tells you something different there, under Registration
Let us know what it tells you
Mine says "no registration history" under registration. And next to account status it is just blank. What does yours say?
-
For those of you applying to U of T who got the Ujoined email - when you log on what does it say? I clicked 'check status' and it says 'no applicant information available'. I know the acceptance isnt out until April 1st but I would think it would at least say applied or something. Does anything different happen to anyone else?
When I login to the "join u of t" page and click "check status", it says "applicant data not found". This is my second time applying. Last time I applied was 2 years ago. I'm so worried! I guess I should email them. Is anyone else seeing this?

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to place a nice reminder that if you are on a waitlist and have been accepted to another school that you know you will be attending please inform the school you are waitlisted at so others can be moved up on the list I can understand how exciting it is to be accepted and that this isn't a priority but those of us on waitlists thank you
Yes please!

I just got on the wait list at Dalhousie. I should be happier but being on the wait list at Alberta and Dalhousie is so frustrating. It's my second time applying and I'm so worried I won't get in. Anyone know how many places are on the wait list at Dalhousie?
-
I'm confused
I applied to Western and Toronto two years ago but I was never a student at either university. Where am I suppose to check the status of my applications? Help!

Hey! Last year Dal sent acceptances to affirmative action applicants 2 weeks before the rest of the acceptance emails were sent out - I got mine on March 28th (regular stream). Also keep in mind that Dal has been shut down the last 2 days due to a huge snowstorm, so nothing has been happening whatsoever since Tuesday. I'd guess they're on a similar schedule as last year, which means around the very end of March. Good luck!!
Thank you so much!! I feel much better about it now. Is anyone on here who is accepted to Dal a part of the affirmative action plan? Or not a part of it for that matter?
Only reason I still worry a little is because this year Dalhousie seems to be sending out acceptances earlier than last year. But maybe with all of these closures they are just behind and still aiming to send the rest of the acceptances out by April 1st.
Anyone know when the wait list notifications for Dalhousie started to be sent out last year?
Thanks for all of the info everybody! This forum does make me go a little crazy sometimes but it's also super informative and has the power to calm my nerves at times too haha.
-
Keep in mind that Dalhousie was closed yesterday and today so this might delay results being sent to people!
That does give me a bit of hope, thanks! But I'm mostly wondering if all of the acceptances have already gone out. I have a feeling they have
Also, judging by last years forum, Dal has a really long waiting list it seems. So I won't get my hopes up even if I manage to get on it Does anyone know how long it is?
-
Congratulations everyone!
I'm really starting to lose hope for Dalhousie I thought I stood a decent shot, but I guess there is only so many seats. Has anyone gotten on the Dalhousie wait list yet? -
She told me last year, but she told me it's about 30 every year.
Thank you so much for the info. They said they don't want me to ask them where I am on the wait list so I'm afraid to ask any other questions haha.
I'm really hoping I hear good things from dal soon because I feel like it's my biggest hope at this point. If people start to hear soon please let us know!
-
I asked Dr. Volden!
Ok thank you!! She said that this year or last year? This wait list will be the death of me haha.
-
There's usually around 30.
Thank you for this! Just wondering where you got that info? I feel like they are so secretive about the waitlist that I was surprised to see a number attached to it!
-
Also, for those who have been accepted to McGill and Dalhousie: By what date do you have to accept or decline the offer? Just curious!
-
I got accepted to Dal by email on March 13th but it still has to be approved by the Faculty of Grad Studies. Good luck to everyone waiting!
Long time lurker, I got into Dal on March 13th as well. It's actually Dal that has the smallest program in Canada, they take 24 SLP students. That along with it having the best clinical placements and most clinical education are why it's my top choice. There's an article on the SAC website that reviewed Canadian programs and Dal was the only one that didn't report any problems finding placements, and you get nearly twice the hours as other schools.
Good luck to those hearing back!
Congratulations to you both! Would you be willing to send me your stats in a private message? I'd really appreciate it!

hi guys, long-time lurker here, finally posting because i'm confused!
I applied to U of A this year, and this afternoon I emailed them and asked if they're done with their acceptance letters. She told me, and I quote: "We are still in the process of contacting successful applicants. Once we have our quota we will begin contacting students on the waiting list." So I'm confused that people got waitlisted today... kinda strange, seeing as how I was told that they're not doing that yet.
When I first emailed Alberta today to ask if they were done with the admission process they said "It is far from being complete probably not until May or so. The waiting list letters have not gone out yet either. Please have patience." So maybe when she said "we will begin contacting people on the waiting list" to you she meant to say they will contact waitlisters to say they made it off the waiting list and into the program.

Just wanted to say that I rejected my acceptance at Western and took myself off the waitlists at Toronto and Dalhousie, so this should help some people that are waiting! Good luck everybody!
