  1. They could at least post their GPA, GRE stats along with the results. And yeah, this thread is definitely not oceanography centric. In fact, I think you are the only user I've seen in this thread who is attending an Oceanography program.
  2. People posting on the Oceanography results page, please post your profiles too.
  3. Is there any website similar to thegradcafe but only for UK universities?
  4. Just got a rejection from the University of Rhode Island. Wondering what could be the reason. Is it ok if I asked the graduate admissions coordinator?

  7. Is it a good bet? What is the average GRE score for admission? Can one get a decent job after completing it? The university website is all over it saying it is a fantastic interdisciplinary program and all but is it really worth applying for?
  8. Hey, I was wondering if it is OK for my recommenders to give their gmail addresses for reference?
  9. Can someone please comment on my SOP? Just leave a message and I will PM my SOP. It is only my first draft and I am too embarrassed to share it directly on the forums. Please help me, deadlines aren't far away/
  10. And I forgot to mention, I am still in my final year of undergraduate program.
  11. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. All the universities stated that a subject test in physics is not required. None of them even suggested anything about it actually. I am also thinking of applying to University of South Florida and University of Rhode Island. They have high acceptance rates. Do you have any idea about their oceanography programs?
  12. BTW, I contacted a professor from Texas A&M and he replied positively. He suggested that I should specify his name and research interests in my SOP. Will that improve my chances?
  13. Will my lack of relevant research experience affect my admission to a Ph.D. program? Should I apply for a few MS programs as well? Just in case.
