  1. For the sake of next year's applicants: Call for applications published: May 19, 2014 National deadline for applications: June 24th Awards announced: Sept 17-18. Accept/decline by: Sept 23
  2. Also heard from my campus rep on 9/18. Though unlike As72, I did not receive the technical review yet.
  3. Still waiting.
  4. As you probably know, programs like the Mellon/ACLS diss. completion fellowship allow for both writing-up and research in the final year. I think they would see you as fitting into that category of grant. The awardees I know from CLIR and IDRF were conducting their primary field research. Their websites also rule it out: CLIR: "Who is not eligible to apply? -- Those who will be significantly engaged in writing their dissertations during the fellowship tenure. This is a research fellowship. Students may apply even if they have started dissertation research or done some writing, but CLIR's awards may be used only for original source research that applicants still need to do. Awards will not be granted to applicants who request support for intermittent research trips combined with the writing of their dissertations." IDRF: "Please note that the IDRF program supports research only and may not be used for dissertation write-up. ... Fellowships provide support for nine to twelve months of on-site, site-specific dissertation research. ... In addition, the IDRF program will not support dissertation write-up either at the home institution or elsewhere"
  5. Results should be out anytime from now through the next couple weeks.
  6. Do we need to provide receipts for all costs? And, if you are able to get your university to defer dissertator tuition, can you retain that money from your budget to use elsewhere during the fellowship?
  7. Hawa, you were right. Its active: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/05/02/2013-10418/applications-for-new-awards-fulbright-hays-doctoral-dissertation-research-abroad-ddra-fellowship
  8. Yeah, if whoever screwed up the sheet could not try and format it, that'd be helpful. And if you make an accidental error, remember to just hit command/control and Z at the same time to undo it. I've got it somewhat back to normal, but there may be scholarship and fellowship people mixed up together. If you're in the wrong section, just post a note in the 'correction column' at the bottom of the sheet and I'll move it.
  9. Me too! Dates email meant nothing!
  10. Not sure if that meant they were confirming one week wait (circa 4/29-4/30) or imply it may be sooner. https://twitter.com/BorenAwards/status/326706461235372032
  11. Queenskid, that info is listed on the spreadsheet.
  12. Okay, the spreadsheet is now divided into two different sections, one for fellowships and one for scholarships.
  13. Nah, given that the response was specifying that the notification was via email and then mail, I'm guessing if anyone asked, it was non-forum people asking in what form the notifications come. And all of us already know that it's email. I'd be surprised if anyone there followed this--it would be an incredibly boring conversation for someone who already knows what's going on and when decisions are being made, it's only interesting to us because we're in limbo.
  14. Last year, for a smaller country, I know that two people turned down a spot due to professional and personal reasons. So someone ended up with the grant that was 2nd on the alternate list. They didn't find out until September, but hey, they got it.
  15. That, and Indonesia found out 55 days ago.
