Hi , first of all..I want to thank you all for your wonderful suggestions at this site. I am very new to this and any help would be highly appreciated. I am from India applying for US grad school in chemistry for Fall 2015. I have finished my MS by 2008 and currently engaged as the Senior Research Executive in the R & D lab of an esteemed MNC. I have four publications in ACS, RSC and Elsevier-all are renowned peer-reviewed journals. In one of them, I am the corresponding author. My doubt is about the impact these publications can have on my admission decision. I have heard that people from academics hardly believe in scientific research that has been conducted under industry tag. Is this true that provided the same publications I have produced in some academic institution, that could have better impact on the admission committee? Also, I want to know if patents in a candidate's credit can at all have some impact on decision-making. Because all schools ask for publications and conference presentations, but none of them look for the patents. I have nine patents filed from my company,so I am doubtful whether or not to enlist them in the application forms.
Please suggest!Thanks a lot!
