This may be a really dumb question, but what are you guys wearing to cope with the Michigan winter weather? I am from Southern California, and I definitely do not own anything more than a thin hoodie. Should I buy myself something on the less ridiculous side of a puffy jacket or should I bring a big black European peacoat type thing? snowboots vs dress shoes? scarf?

I had a dream about a week ago that I received a letter from U of Connecticut's BiomedSci PhD program saying "REJECTED, and you have to pay for your own flight to get here to get personally rejected, TO YOUR FACE" or something ridiculous. and then YESTERDAY, I checked my email, and lo and behold! an interview! but I DO have to pay for the flights..but I will get reimbursed eventually. So I guess HALF of that dream was true?

Ive heard back from three school so far (UMichigan, UC Irvine, U of Connecticut) and totally got interviews! I havent heard back from UC San Diego, Carnegie Mellon, or Northwestern...but that is okay! I wouldnt be butt-hurt if I had rejections from those schools. I just wish my finger didnt keep pushing the "REFRESH" button on my email client every 5 minutes. Hm.. ~ silence ~
