Really? I was thinking the renewal was basically a given. Has anyone out there re-applied and been successful in their second year?

I've just been awarded the OGS as an International student, however, it has only been awarded for the first year of a two-year M.A. Obviously you need to re-apply for the second year. I was wondering, though, what is the likelihood of not receiving it in the second year of study (provided good standing has been maintained, etc.)?

First post here; in a similar situation as described by most in this thread. Received an unofficial email from my POI (the head of dept., with whom I had prolonged, mostly positive correspondence prior to making the application) saying that my application is one they are feeling very positive about, checking if I am "still interested" and also saying that they were awaiting a fee-related clarification from Grad Studies. After replying in the affirmative, I got no response and heard nothing since (21 days now). Given that I am an int. student I guess there could be something in the mail that I have not yet received (23 days seems a long time though, right? I'm an EU student applying to a Canadian University, so I guess that may explain it). I was considering mailing the POI again; do folk think this is a good idea or should I hold out? It's my "last chance", as it were, as I have been rejected from both other schools I've applied to.
