  1. I liked how the department handled recruitment a lot more... first impressions. Also, OSU has more professors that align with my research interests. I'm really excited to teach as well and w/ OSU, I TA the first semester and teach on my own by second semester. I'm also a little anxious about making as big of a commitment to a PhD program versus taking the time at OSU to see if academia is a good fit for me / if I can succeed at a phD level.
  2. I accepted with OSU's MA program on Friday so if anyone was waitlisted for IU Bloomington's PhD program, you might be in luck! Best wishes to all of you. Thanks for helping my anxiety during this crazy time.
  3. I wish I could go but I'm going to a diff school's weekend. Planning on visiting IU in April. After the weekend, I'd love to hear what you thought. I know my visit won't be as exciting as the official one and don't want that to influence my final decision.
  4. Thanks so much for your feedback. I just received my finalized itinerary so it should help me plan effectively and NOT overpack LOL. I'm super pumped too and have googled all of the places we will be eating... being the foodie that I am haha
  5. Hey ya'll Any advice for visiting campuses? This is more for those currently in MA programs who've had to go through the process. Any questions you wished you would have asked? Also interested in what to pack? Is casual good or should I like throw in a blazer? The school I'm going to see just said something about umbrellas and layers. Any tidbits would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Congrats! I never had an interview so it's looking bleak for me. I'll keep my fingers crossed though
  7. Not sure about UWa but the results that were reported last year for UCSC dated rejections being sent out 02/24.
  8. Hoping to hear back from UCSC & Univ of Washington this week. Otherwise, I'm thinking they'll be rejections. UCSC is such a new program that there are barely any stats / results posted on here to pinpoint when they notify people / how many they accept.
  9. Thank you! after 3 rejections in a row, it was nice to have some good news!
  10. Yup. An e-mail from the program coordinator
  11. Hey ya'll. I just heard about my acceptance to IU-Bloomington. So for thsoe we were wondering, it should come soon. Full funding and the like ! YAY! Only downside - their visit is the same weekend as OSU. And I've already committed to checking them out. But still YAY!
  12. For updating results, you can't be any apostrophes. Weird. So you have to put Womens, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
  13. AHH so many mixed emotions LOL Thanks for the info!
  14. I'm going to assume they don't have grad cafe. Emory seems to be pretty efficient with decision making judging from past years. Le sigh.
